Favorite Mario Game?

Please take the time to answer the poll about your Top 3 Mario Games. It will aid me in selecting a basis for any upcoming projects.
Top 3 Mario Games (though unfortunately most of these aren't in the actual Mario series, so if you expect a game with a lot of platforming on this list, look elsewhere):
Paper Mario series (I have only played A Thousand Year Door though) - This series of games (at least the earlier games) is a fun ride. I personally fell in love with this series thanks to my boyfriend. Favorite characters would have to be Vivian, Princess Peach, and Goombella.
Mario and Luigi series - Now this I have a little bit more knowledge of since I've played Superstar Saga and Bowser's Inside Story (I also have Dream Team and Paper Jam but I never touched it.) If you like Luigi or like Bowser in a role that isn't primary antagonist (which is not surprisingly my favorite kinds of Mario games) then these games are actually for you. The games themselves also have this nice character to them that is fun (then again, many complained Dream Team and Paper Jam would never get as good as Bowser's Inside Story but we'll get to that eventually.) Favorite characters would have to be Prince Peasley, Starlow, Monsieur Broque, and Bowser himself oddly enough.
Mario Party - This is a nice 'Feel Good' game. You play with some friends and you get a fun ride from it, and best of all, I never lost any of my friends from it so it's a nice bonus. Surprisingly enough the friends I have REALLY HATE PRINCESS PEACH FOR SOME ODD REASON so I play as her as a means of an 'up yours'. I really hope some of the characters from above can be playable in these games because I want to play a game like this as Prince Peasley.
