Pokemon: Ambers of Alpha - Prologue
Posted: Mon Jul 11, 2016 11:40 pm
Ok, so there's this Pokemon fanfiction I've been planning to work on since Black/White came out, and here it is, the one and only, first version ever released after literally years of only thinking about it. I give credit to Muyoko for the Giovanni teaser in her art topic as well as helping me set up much of the future plot. Anyways, here it is below. I literally did about 99% of this in a span of 30-40 minutes so it is incredibly rushed. The harshest criticism is the most appreciated as I want this to be drop-dead amazing fanfiction. I won't explain too much what I have in store unless someone asks.
BREAKING NEWS: SAFFRON SIEGE ENDED
Officials say terrorist group Team Rocket sieged the big city of Saffron last week. No info has been released on their motives, but they were speculated to be after Silph Co.’s new research regarding Mewtwo and the Ruins of Alpha in the Johto region. The siege ended abruptly when the Silph Co.’s north side exploded. A group of vigilantes are said to be responsible for ending it.
BREAKING NEWS: SIX CHILDREN DISAPPEAR ACROSS JOHTO. LOCALS SUGGEST A SINISTER PURPOSE
Witnesses claim they saw an ominous figure with a rocket-style mask over his face near the areas each children were last seen. The idea this mysterious masked man may have kidnapped these kids has not been ruled out.
IN OTHER NEWS: CRUISE SHIP ‘S.S.ANNE’ IS DEPLOYED FIRST TIME IN 20 YEARS.
Off to the south of Tohjo Falls lays a beautiful beach facing the same direction where four men sat, two of which had a son and daughter with them, both 3 and 2 respectively. James Ketchum, Darius Panzer and his son Ethan were present, and Alex Birch brought his daughter, May. Jason Oak left his son at home to stay with his father. Mammatus clouds appeared overhead and a storm was expected, but the group of vigilantes talked and watched the beautiful sunset. Weather in the summer was sure exotic in the middle of the continent.
“Well guys,” Alex started, “we stopped Rockets from taking info involving Mewtwo. Silph Co. said they located where it is now residing, let’s just hope that they never actually came across any of it. How they found out about it, I have no idea.”
“What else exactly did they discover though?” James asked, “Wasn’t there something involving the Ruins of Alpha as well?”
“Yeah, something about a door or gate. I don’t know anything else.”
Darius was holding up the newspaper, on the right panel had 6 pictures. Alex looked at it with a grimace.
“We should really do something about this,” Darius says as he holds up the article.
“Six children disappear across johto… sinister purpose… masked man, yeah sounds like something Rocket would do.”
“We should get to…” Darius stared off down the hill, “May, Ethan, get out of here!”
“What?!” James said, as everyone became alarmed.
“Look down there,” Darius hissed, pointing down at a far tree edge. “Kids, run near the falls behind us and get out of here _now_.”
Down at the treeline in front of the group, seven figures slowly made their way forward, starting to widen the arc. The poor 3-year-old kids, Ethan and May were confused but didn’t question their fathers’ commands and trotted off in the direction of a grove of trees looking up at a cliff.
By the time the kids were out of sight, the mysterious seven people were in plain sight. Consisting of seven henchman, Rocket’s elderly leader Madame Boss, and a mystery lady.
“Hello sweeties,” Madame Boss chuckled, “keeping up on current events?”
“You seem a little old to be strolling out this far, miss.” Jason stepped forward.
Madame boss looked to the right at her sidekick and nodded. She stepped forward in touching distance to Jason and gave a swift punch straight into his stomach. Jason doubled over.
“It’s never nice to comment on a lady’s age, honey,” She looked back up to the rest, “now I know you gentleman have some knowledge that I would appreciate you’d share. We want our Mewtwo back as we need to let it know who’s boss. Besides, what it has is quite valuable to me. Any of you fine gentleman know where I could find it?”
“Miss,” Darius growled, “you’re not getting any info or money out of us.”
Madame Boss raised her hand and snapped her finger. The vigilante group realized they were surrounded when each grunt came up from behind and pinned them to their knees. Madame Boss pulled out a revolver and handed it to her assistant. “Miyamoto, I think we need to create some tension in order to get what we need.”
This girl, named Miyamoto, nodded her head, spinned the revolver, and pointed it straight in Darius’ ear. She pulled the trigger. *click*
Darius winced at the click before chuckling. “Do you think you’re going to get intel out of dead men?”
“No, but we may get info out of almost dead men.” Miyamoto then pointed the barrel at his stomach before pulling the trigger again. This time, came out a large bang and a grunt. Blood began to show through his shirt. Miyamoto then pressed the barrel into the wound, which caused Darius to grunt in agony.
James couldn’t handle seeing his friend being tortured and broke free, elbowing his rocket grunt in the jaw. Before he could lunge any further, Madame pulled out another pistol and shot him in the head, point blank.
“Any struggles and you guys will go down like dominoes!” She snarled.
“You bitch,” Alex growled. Up to this point, he’d been silent. Madame then turned the pistol to his head and shot him down. Off to the end
“Dominoes,” She taunted. She then ushered to the grunts without men to hold down and they jogged over to johto falls to investigate the scream. Thunder rumbled just overhead as the storm developed further.
“ALRIGHT, hold it!” Jason yelled, “Mewtwo is at least suspected to be hiding near the Lake of Rage. He and his clone army are guarding an amber that is part of a gate in the ruins of alpha. Silph Co. was still translating the codes on it by the time you and your crew of bastards came in. They burned all their research so you wouldn’t get to it and now they’re at square one. Thanks to your sloppy son disrupted the peace, you won’t find out for at least another 15 years.”
A light shower had started. Jason had partially lied, at least about where Mewtwo was hiding. If he was going to die now, he was going to lead them the wrong way and delay the inevitable. Once he did this, Miyamoto stopped pushing against Darius’ gun wound. The hench men released them and Madame stood impressed.
“I’m amazed you’d break so quickly.” She taunted. She clicked her pistol and without hesitation shot them both point blank, same way as the other two.
“If we don’t find the kids, it’s no big deal. There’s no way they’ll survive a storm out here alone. It floods here; they’ll drown. As for these bodies, let them be found. It’ll leave an example.”
Lightning flashed as the orange to the west disappeared. The light shower began to thicken to a pour.
Young May was hiding in a bush as she saw in the distance each fatherly figure shot down, her father first. She fully understood, even at this young age, what happened and she screamed in horror. Both kids noticed the two guys slowly working their way towards them and had to dash away. Stumbling over twigs and old logs, they were both crying, being scared and alone. Thunder began to crash above. Eventually, they found themselves separated.
Terrified May began to bawl while running and all of a sudden came across a ghostly figure between the mist. She stumbled back in fear as the mist showed sinister yellow eyes. It whispered in her mind.
“It’s a shame what happened to you, as you lost an important figure in your life. I’ve lost one in mine too.”
It came into a shape she recognized – her old doll she lost in Slateport, only this time it had glowing yellow eyes and a zipped mouth, as it was a Bannette.
“I’ve been looking for you, and now that I found you I can help you.”
She stood there frozen, but nodding, getting soaked from the rain dripping through the trees.
“Let’s make a deal. You need my help right now, and I can save you and the other kid from this dangerous storm. Only, 16 years from now, I know I’ll need your help, and I know you’ll be able to help me then.”
She nodded in agreement, being a naïve 3-year old.
“Wonderful. Go behind me and there’s a cave.”
This Bannette fizzled out as a cave was revealed in front, with Ethan huddled inside. May bawled as she ran inside.
“Shh,” Ethan said through tears of his own. Both cried themselves to sleep as the storm slowly raged away.
“Oh my goodness. Bill, get over her, I found two kids!”
May woke up to an old man standing in front of the cave as morning light shone danced off the entrance. A young man ran up to the old one and peered in.
“Golly, gramps, you’re right! They look like Darius’ and Alex’s! How did they get here?”
Much after that was a blur for the two kids. They made it safely home, thanks to a young nerdy Bill and his grandfather.
BREAKING NEWS: 4 BODIES, 2 CHILDREN, FOUND AFTER STORM
Two hikers found two children in a cave hiding from the overnight storm and later found four bodies close to washing away from the storm’s flooding. Autopsies revealed foul play as gunshots to the head were on all four and a gunshot to the stomach on one. The four bodies were identified as Darius Panzer, Alex Birch, James Ketchum, and Jason Oak. Two children were found nearby alive in a cave, assumed to be sheltering from the storm, but it’s a miracle they were alive.
“We just found these two kids asleep in this small cave near Tohjo Falls. When we went to go look for their parents, we found the bodies on the beach. I sent Bill away with the kids and went to go make sure they didn’t wash away,” Jack, grandfather of aspiring engineer Bill Fence.
Expect the first chapter eventually. God knows when it will come, but yes, criticism and ideas will always be accepted (maybe not considered but accepted).
