Story so far:
The Mushroom Kingdom had lived in peace ever since Bowser's plans for world invasion through the power of the Sacred Star were ruined by Mario and his friends. However, no peace can last forever. Frightening news from the neighbouring kingdom of Shiverburn Nova have reached her highness Queen Daisy. With the full force of the Royal Armada she has begun the journey to confront Bowser, who had obtained a new kind of power and was once again planning for a world invasion.
The episode begins with an assault to Bowser's new palace. Can you solve deadly puzzles in the war-torn world of Shiverburn Nova and put an end to the greatest threat the Mushroom Kingdom has ever seen?
Features:
* 4 playable characters
* More than 100 levels with some minibosses included
* 4 major multi-phase boss fights
* Unlimited lives
* Takes advantage of LunaLua and SMBX 2.0 features
* Main graphics by Sednaiur
The episode should have a healthy balance between puzzles and platforming and the level structure is less linear this time around. A world map will be used. The player is forced to use a certain character for each level through LunaLua. As in the previous episode, there is no scrolling and the player has to figure out various ways to reach the exit door. More screenshots will be provided as the development progresses.

Estimated release : October 2016. Beta testing will happen closer to the release.

Hey now! Are you trying to say the first game was not an epitome of perfection in every aspect?
Anyways, the episode is now 50% completed and thus I have new (WIP) screenies to present:

The new screens look nice and I adore the map. If the first one was near perfect, would it be bad to try to make the sequel even better? It was very fun watching as303298 play it and makes me want to LP this one, or video beta-test it. Either or.

I was being slightly sarcastic before, it definitely was not perfect. Most likely those who prefer puzzles to platforming will like the sequel more. And of course the additions brought by LunaLua and the better and more coherent graphics should make the game more attractive.

Sorry for the misinterpretation.

It looks great so far. I like how you used the "ashen" tileset. Looking forward to it.

This looks like an awesome and unique Project! Almost reminds me of those one-screen puzzle levels from Super Mario Maker!
Anyways, I've noticed an error in this screenshot. If you look really close, you can see that Link's rupee icon is still present, despite the entire hud being erased!
It's to the top left of the uppermost small plant if you can't find it.
Anyways, looking forward to this unique Project!

^ Thanks, and actually that is one of the 1000 minor known errors I've not gotten to yet. :p

Oh man, puzzles on our way to go! I really like as of what you did so far with the design and such, makes me wonder what this game really has in store if it's on completion. I wish you good luck with that!

Oh hey, a sequel to SME. This looks very interesting; I hope it has puzzles this time (and no reused bosses).

The first one was absolutely amazing (and ridiculously hard, especially later on) and now we have a sequel. When beta testing starts, I would love to be a beta tester.

I have two beta testers so far but a few more won't hurt. I'd rather do the pick closer to the release, but if you are willing to beta test, you can just PM me. Will see how many there are interested. Don't want the whole forum testing though as it's not supposed to be a "play early" -experience but an actual test. :p
Anyways, some progress has been made again. Currently it looks like there will be 104 levels in the episode excluding the possible post-game content and I have 85 levels done. Despite the lower level count than in the previous game, it will take longer to play through as there are no 10 second levels this time around after the introduction level.
Oh, and bossedit8, spin jumping is disabled throughout the episode so no more being clever and glitching everything. <3

1. Oh, OK.
2. The first one took me forever to beat anyways, so that should be OK.
3. That's the only way I ever got through some levels...

Aww how nice of you... now I'll gain even more challenges once it's released. <3
