MY FIRST LEVEL! So bossedit8 recorded this level for me because I requested him. I asked him what he thought about the level and he gave the level 9.25. But just to be sure I wanted to hear the Level Jugdes opinions and what you guys have to say. So here's the level. It's called Mushroom Mayhem. It's a lake level with mushrooms, ice mushrooms and bouncy mushrooms. So here's a video.

Thanks again bossedit8 being awesome enough recording the level. BTW the errors in the video is now fixed.

The level has:
- 3 stars
- 1 Green Coin challenge
- 1 Mystery Box challenge
- Good level design (maybe...)

Hope you enjoy the level! BTW if you wanna use some of the items and objects in the level PM me first.

Okay, lemme give you a quick overview of what I think about this level. ;)

Graphics (15%): 10/10. All the tiles, backgrounds and enemies are either SMB3 or NSMB style and fit well to each other.
Music (10%): 8.5/10. The track you hear most of the time (KRtDL Canyon.mp3) has a rather bad quality compared to the other two tracks you hear in the secret zones, but other than that, the music is well chosen and fits to the level.
Difficulty (25%): 7.5/10. Quite balanced overall. But: The unlimited mushroom supply at the beginning of Section 4 severely reduces the difficulty, the part with the Spinys and the Bullet Bills in Section 3 can be quite tricky, and the Bloopers in the water part of Section 4 are a major annoyance.
Creativity (25%): 10/10. So many awesome features, items and objects, I loved them. The Mystery Box challenge is a nice idea, so is the Orange Coin challenge.
Secrets (15%): 10/10. Well hidden and rewarding. Definitely going to keep you busy for a while.
Replayability (10%): 9/10. The level is a lot of fun, finding all three stars represents a challenge as two of them are well hidden, and also, you can always try to improve how fast you finish the level.

Overall: 9.125

Yes, I think you deserve becoming a level designer.

Review of Mushroom Mayhem

Level Design: 8.5/10

This level resembles Level 1-4, "Shroomy Showdown," of Chad's Super Mario Star Expedition project. The level design, however, was different compared to Shroomy Showdown. Overall, I like the challenges presented, especially the mystery box challenge (clever how you had to enter via a pipe entrance into the box to make that effect). Enemy placement was good, and the purple blocks was something I didn't really expect but was also a neat touch. But, there were a few cutoffs within the level (only with some of the vines though). In addition, I didn't necessarily like the very light blue mushrooms that were icy; it just didn't go with the theme of this level. Other than that, great job.

Level Aesthetics: 7.5/10

As mentioned before, this level resembles Shroomy Showdown. The tileset used, background, and background objects, along with the shading of the enemies, were basically the same as found in Shroomy Showdown. There were a few blocks, of course, such as the upside down question block that replaced the Yoshi egg, along with those purple blocks, that were different. Other than that, the majority of the graphics were graphics from Shroomy Showdown. Although they're very nice graphics, I appreciate the aesthetics of a level more if the graphics used didn't come from a well known project, especially from Chad's one. Anyways, the music used went well with the level, so nice selection there.

Advice:

Level design wise, there's really not that much of a problem. However, graphics wise, try to use a different recolor of a tileset so that there can be uniqueness found within your level.

Final Score: 8/10
Level Rank: Pretty Good

Tnx for the review! I wasn't really hoping for this score, but I will improve the level and I'll try to recolor the GFXs. I'm glad that you liked the items and the Mystery Box Challenge. Did you find the Green Coin Challenge anyway? If not it's in the underwater section. The icy mushroom was suppose to be something new, but it's a bit of a pain so I'll cut it out of the game( I've decided to use this level in my game ). But I'm not do agree with that you shouldn't use GFXs from well known games. It's not about the GFXs it's about how you use then. But anyway thanks for the review again!
