I'm asking myself, Is borrowing and using custom graphics from custom episodes is a negative thing? I'm worried that, I might get banned if I use other graphics from custom episodes.

I think it's ok as long as you ask for permission, and give them credit

I thinks it's okay. I sometimes do it too. Just give 'em credit or cite the episode and level it came from.

Don't take graphics from episodes unless you personally ask for permission or can find them in a GFX pack that has been released on the Graphics forum. Even if you give credit but don't ask if you can in the beginning, that's against the rules. Some episodes use special graphics that the creators don't want to share. And of course, you've always got to give credit

Forum rules don't mention anything about graphics though, nor do the project rules. This is a lie.

Although I do remember Quill stating he didn't want anyone using graphics from Foroze.

Just give credit and got permisson for special gfx.

The only thing that matters is that you don't credit yourself for graphics you didn't do. They don't go around locking level/episode topics because the creator didn't give credit for every single little graphic in the level/episode that they didn't make.

But keep in mind, some projects specifically say not to take gfx (Lowsers Conquest). So be sure to read the episode/project summary before taking GFX.

I'm sure Nintendo will be angry if you use their graphics, so you'd better not.

Again, if you don't have permission and can't find them in a GFX pack, the answer is no
