"manji" is just the Japanese word for "swastika". Swastikas symbolizing Buddhism are usually left-facing, but not always. But what I was surprised by is that there's apparently a Chinese character for the right-facing swastika. Unless it's just some custom Unicode addition. (EDIT: looks like it is. There are also dotted versions!)
