so i am running windows ten. the game loads and runs, and looks fine, until i do certain things, such as select a menu option or jump.
i kinda feel like certain areas and the amount of things on the screen might affect it, but it is very noticeable when i jump.

everytime i jump there is a split second of lag that makes the game unplayable.
when doing nothing, the game looks like it is running very smoothly.

i have tried every compatibility mode that i have the option to try (7,8, vista etc)

i have tried disabling frame skip to no effect.

anyone heard of a problem like this or have any ideas?

intel core i7-6700 CPU @3.40GHz
memory 16 gb
64 bit operating system
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti

How much RAM?

16 GB RAM

nvidia gforce has 2048 mb memory

I have done some science, and if i turn the sound off it runs fine.
any thoughts on the sound causing lag? or specific sound effect?
