background graphic errors in SMBX 1.3.0.1

Hi all,
I have just discovered SMBX so I'm still a noob. I have tried to solve this issue on my own but I suck too much. I am experiencing background graphic errors in SMBX 1.3.0.1 After two days of "tinkering" around I have decided to ask the experts here on the board for advice.
Running WinXP (yes XP
) I have just upgraded my Nvidia drivers to the latest version and also uninstalled and re-installed SMBX several times with no change. I cannot find anybody with the same problem. All youtube videos seem to play perfect for others.
Everything runs smoothly but the background is usually messed up. I have tried about five episodes and I get messed up backgrounds in all of them. Sometimes the background is just off and sometimes it "shakes". Sometimes it looks like parts of the background are missing and the movement of Mario and/or enemies cause a comet tail effect which can be seen in my screenshots. I have included 4 screenshots to give you guys an idea.
Any help on this matter will be greatly appreciated. It's not the end of the world, but it sure would be nice to have proper gfx. Thanks in advance.
