I'm trying out yet another reviewing system. Hopefully this one will stick.
Aesthetics (Sound, Visuals and Story)
The level's visuals were pretty good. It looked like a desert, but with a bit of green. I'd change the trees in the background, as they are yellow-orange, which doesn't exactly look right, and don't have trunks. I'm not a fan of the clouds in the background--they form some weird pointy shapes. The music was pretty good. It sounded more like a theme for a ruins-themed level to me, but it wasn't particularly unfitting. Story is not applicable because the level does not have one.
8/10
Design (Layout, Block Placement and NPC Usage)
This level was quite well-designed. While mostly linear, there were some split paths and power-ups you make the player work for (long jumps, etc.). I like how some of it is underwater, even though I hate underwater levels. The use of moving platforms was good. A lot of times the player could go out of their way to get extra coins, which was fun. Almost everything was well-placed. I can't really think of many flaws here.
9/10
Replay Value (Gimmicks, Secrets and Originality)
You used Dragon Coins in the level, which was good for the replay value. I like how the player has to mess around to get to some (triggering the appearance of moving platforms) or just go in the right pipes. They were quite easy to find, but it was still fun to look for them. However, the gimmicks weren't too original or interesting: it was half underwater, had pop-up blocks (more like pop-down) and you could ride moving platforms. It felt like a pretty standard level, overall.
7/10
Overall Rating: 7.5/10 (pretty good)
A good level. The gimmicks weren't too interesting, but it was well-designed and had some secrets, though they were a bit easy to find.
