Have you ever thought that an episode wasn't all that hot and it was just kinda meh but everyone else loved it? Now you can post here so everyone knows what to avoid.

1. Valtteri Island 3 - if I wanted to play SMW I have a GBA, and the old system did it so much more accurately than a 21st century PC

2. SMSE - Wow Chad good job using all the enemies in the first few worlds it's not like I have dozens more long boring levels to play through now.

3. Tower of Biased 2 - the final level uses a glitchy airship that looks like a cloud. Is this what you guys thought quality was back then? Looks like reghrhre didn't learn his lesson for LFFTMK due to the skypop.

We're going to need some fries for all this salt.

I only really think one is overrated, and that's New Great Castle Adventure. It's fine, I had a fun time with it but I found others to be better. And tons of people were hyped but not so much more me. Wasn't bad in the slightest but wasn't best either.

This thread has hospitalized me. Expect the bill.

Actually my only gripe with SMSE was that you had to bump and hug about every pipe in a desperate attempt to find hidden stars and junk. Otherwise I really liked it.

Mix World 2 is like if you take a graphics pack and slap slopes on it. Repeat 80 times and you got an episode!

Halloween Hypnosis is utter crap, why do people like that episode?

Not to mention it only had 80 levels, 20 less than the first one. I guess he has a future at Electronic Arts.

Seriously, that episode has no custom graphics. How can an episode be good without custom graphics.

But anyway, I would say Bowser's Brain Control Takeover. Early on in SMBX's history it was often listed as one of the best SMBX episodes ever alongside Mario Classic and SMSE. However this appears to be the product of too much hype, as it appears to get pretty dull after world 3, and some of the levels are quite badly designed.

I felt like 2k15 Summer Takeover went a little too quickly. It was like 15 minutes of par levels. At least the finale was p good, but I don't think it quite made up for the rest.

But hell! It was only the first draft of Enjl and Marina's dream team. I haven't played anything more recent than that of theirs. I'm sure they're helluva better now.

For me, it would have to be Legend of Mario. It started out with the promise of being something unique (like it advertised in the main post), but after the Auto Start Level, it quickly devolved into another typical SMBX episode with a myriad of level-design problems. Although most of the issues weren't that big a deal, it also had the gall to reuse level designs from commercial Mario games, even going so far as to steal entire levels from SMB3! If I wanted to play SMB3, I'd play SMB3.

I know that there were no custom graphics before SMBX v1.2.
However, a minor and not important detail is that the post was made on April Fools (highlight the post).

In all seriousness, I think Mix World 2 is really overrated. All of the levels seem the same and they almost all utilize the same gimmick(s). It seems to be all about the visuals, since there's little variety from a gameplay point of view. I also don't like the placement of coins and power-ups. Furthermore, the hub isn't great either imo. Personally, although Camacho put a lot of work into it, I really don't think it's a very good episode

I fully agree with the Mix World 2 thing, but since I wanted to add something to this thread rather than adding only salt, I'm gonna say NCGA. Some levels were super-enjoyable, but the hub and the story were both kinda meh, not to mention the differences in designing quality. On top of that, I hate the fact that the episode gets special treatment because it was made by people with blue names. Woah.

Personal opinion: Mix World 2 is like a 5 year old making a painting, it's far from super, it needs improvements and all the game seems to be for me is a ball of visuals and slopes. The gimmicks are meh, the npc placement can be a little lower and the music is for me personaly very annoying. Sorry if this sounds rude.

He didn't say he doesn't appreciate your hard work. In his opinion, your hard work just didn't produce a very good product. Keep in mind that quality > quantity. Putting hard work into few levels will yield more positive feedback than putting not as hard work into a lot of levels.

Also, interesting how your feedback on Sarasaland Adventure is identical to everyone else's feedback on your episode.
