The inevitable...

I know that it has become annoying over time, but could we just reopen the GFX request forums for people with over a certain amount of posts? Or make it like the levels forum and make it mandatory for the user to apply in order to post in the section.

All the removal has done was splitting up the community even more.

This isn't the case anymore.

You know you can still request stuff by PM, right? The reason the requests forum was locked because everyone was posting huge requests for graphics which they would likely never use. Of course not all requests are like that, but people who know what they're doing and actually want to have their small requests finished can, and do already, send their requests by PM to a graphics person of their choice.

I personally see no point in reopening the forum. It's just be a semi-dead mess with lots of ridiculous, unfinished requests floating around.

Instead of opening a whole subforum for it, why not make 1 thread for it and let people request stuff in there?

Would make things a lot easier I guess.

I personally feel uncomfortable to PM multiple great GFX designers for a request, they do have their own lives and I don't really want to annoy them with request they probably won't fulfill anyway.
Rather have a forum or a thread in which people can be handled personally and by wish of the creator.

As in a thread where you request stuff and settle the rest via PMs.

You're gonna have to explain this more.

We're not bringing back the requests forum for the reasons that I specified here.

Spriting is easy tbh, just look at the WIP graphics topic and see how people usually do it. Some tips however if you do start trying to do it yourself:
1. If you're doing a tileset make sure to use the same fill tile for every block. (this should be kind of obvious but i know it wasn't obvious to me when I first started)
2. Look at Enjl's tutorial it explains everything you need to know to start up.
3. Ripping is the most annoying part use Frozenquills' tileset compiler to make it easier
