Judging
MosaicMario
6-9 Rimy Rope Bridge By The Thwomp King
Not exactly sure how this level relates to color, but here's my feedback, this level kind of dragged a bit, some of the colors were a little oversaturated like the dark blue bee, and i think the checkpoint took too long to show up, about the enemy placement, i think it was pretty okay, the power-ups were placed decently, the gameplay and level design was pretty good too, and the music just fit the level. The light pink and light blue colors were implemented pretty well, so overall, i'd say this level is nice, but a little long, but not sure what else to say about it.

Blocks of Colorful Colors By Yoshi021
Well, this level was just kind of... i'm not sure how to explain it, it wasn't really that fun to play and there were a few points where someone would have to go around the whole stage again if missing a platform or such, there were a few problems with it, such as me having to fix a warp just to continue playing. You did pretty good on the color aspect, and the enemy placement is kind of... ok. But overall i think this was a level that wasn't that good, but it wasn't terrible either.
4.5
Desolate Palace of Birdo's Love By littch
What a great level! I think that you did a very great job on the colors and aesthetics, i liked the birdo looking enemies and the way you did the enemy variety! The way the different color birdos were created were also pretty good! The music was also pretty good as well! You did a really nice job on this! The only flaw i can really think of is that the third boss is a little too hard. But other than that it's overall a great level!
7.5
Rainbow of Doom By JettPizza
This level, i'd say is like mediocre or something, it did good on the color aspect of the level, and i'd say the music is fitting, but you had quite a few flaws that you put in the level. Like, the platforms in the orange room go offscreen a little fast, the switch in the yellow room switches way too fast, plus someone could just skip some of it with a timed jump to the left on the second platform. The green room had enemy spam, if you want to make it where you have to defeat every enemy in a room to proceed, you should at least spread them out. The light blue room had way too little challenge in it though. Overall, this level had many flaws but was still decent but make sure you learn from this review in the future.
4.5
Rescue Mission in Lava World By RoundPiplup
I'm sorry, but this level was just WAY too hard, and it wasn't very fun to play either. It was very frustrating and it had alot of enemy spam, you don't either world 8 diffculty levels in contests, the boss was a little bit unnerscarry long, i thought after the first two phases that it was over, but nope, i was wrong, there was a third phase. Another problem is the that the music file is broken so that another problem. The only positive thing i can really think of about the level is that the aesteahics are pretty good. Overall, this really had a lot of problems and really, it wasn't horriable, but it was pretty bad.

6-9 Rimy Rope Bridge - 6.4/10
I don't really see how this is connected to colour, but you did a nice job at capturing the feel of the DKC levels, in terms of design and aesthetics. While having good ideas on paper, some design choices seriously kill the level's score. The Zinger placement is rather unfair, and often placed without much strategic thought, and there isn't really a lot of decoration aside from the fences, but that's understandable because it's hard to find DKC graphics. I also don't get why the ground is slippery either, the reason your checkpoint is just floating in midair, and why some of your music files are missing.
Blocks of Colorful Colors - 2/10
Aside from the pretty colours, I didn't like playing this level. It's almost completely dull in terms of gameplay, as there's nothing much to entice the player into the level, because the sections are pretty repetitive - it's just "dodge this Koopa, dodge this Venus Fire Trap, get to the pipe" repeated ad nauseum, which isn't helped by the lack of scrolling in many sections. This level also suffers from a lack of testing, because one of the warps is missing and thus renders the level incompletable. Finally, it should be worth noting that this isn't really a "level" as such, but more of a graphical showcase. This is apparent when the lava in one of the sections doesn't fit and was only there just because it's red.
Desolate Palace of Birdo's Love - 8.1/10
7.8/10 too much loving--ahem.
Now this is something you don't see every day - a level that is themed almost entirely around Birdo. And it's a pretty good one as well, albeit being a normal switch-based level. What I liked best about it was that you had to remember what you did in a previous section as it would affect something in a section much further down. The repetitive Birdo encounters were interesting in that each one comes with a different strategy, requiring the player to rethink how to beat the boss. The final battle, though, was absolutely amazing. I really liked how you managed to transform a boring Birdo battle into some really awesome layers and events battle with flying Birdo...without Lua. I honestly thought you were using Lua for a second until I looked into the level folder - well done. It's one of the best Birdo battles I've seen. The checkpoint, though, seems to be placed a bit too far into the level.
Rainbow of Doom - 3.8/10
Not so much "doom" I can see in this level, but this one has some good ideas going for it, like using a springboard to dodge Grinders and climbing over Hoopster-infested vines, but that's pretty much the entire level - the ideas aren't even expanded enough and don't last that long for the level to keep going. This is not to mention that a couple of the puzzles are unfair, such as the Beach Koopa hitting green switch one, because the switches change too fast, and the Paratroopa one, which is pretty much random and also there are too many of them. Also, the SMB2 underground theme in section 3 is as unfitting as music gets because you're still in the sky, but considering the custom music file is still there, it may have been a misclick on the designer's part.
Rescue Mission in Lava World - 5.4/10
A basic lava overworld autoscroller, followed by manual scrolling. The autoscroll is a nice idea, but there are some cramped tunnels and quite a bit of enemy spam. But in the overall, it's still bearable. The subsequent sections are a lot better in the design and gameplay department though, but nothing substantially new was introduced as it was essentially just a glorified platform ride, and some ideas used were a bit random like the key, and I don't understand why there are SMB3 and SMW doors in the same section. I do, though, like how you did the boss battle, in which it starts off like a standard Boom Boom battle which transitions into something more drawn-out when enemies start to fill up the arena. Your music files are also missing as well, which destroyed the atmosphere in some sections, as well as equalling a failed attempt at trying to rickroll me at the end of the level.
PROX
6-9 Rimy Rope Bridge: 1/10
This level just went on and on. Also why does everything have ice physics?
The colors were so vibrant, I was lucky I didn't go blind lol. Seriously though,
tone it down. Also those enemies that replaced bullies had no frames facing the
right, so they were basically moonwalking. Speaking of npcs. The whole level was
just cluttered with them. There was no rhyme or reason to anything in this level.
It just looked like someone plastered everything together. Also the luna code didn't
work for me. IDK if it's my problem or not, so I won't mark you down for this. Still,
this level needs a lot of improvement.
Blocks of Colorful Colors: 0/10
This level isn't even finished. There are warps that don't exist when they should,
and there's not even an exit. Also I can see what the judges had to go through when
they played the earlier version of my CC12 level. The level in general was just a
huge mess and the passageways were very cramped. Also I can tell you're new to this
designing thing. Based on what I saw, it was ok. Just make sure you finish what you started.
Desolate Palace of Birdo's Love: 5/10
Pretty decent level. It definitely nailed the atmosphere. I do think there could have been
more power-ups though. The npc placement was ok, but there was some questionably placed
volcano lotuses. I did like the basketball birdo though. It was a neat touch. The area it was in
could have been less cramped though. Overall, this level was ok. Nothing really crazy, but it
wasn't bad either.
Rainbow of Doom: 3/10
It needs work... There was no point to anything in this level. The beginning was
ok, but later sections made no sense whatsoever. The switch section that I was
frustrating myself with turned out to be optional, so that really messed things up.
The platforms and the switches were going waaaay too fast. My reaction time had to
be frame perfect or else I failed. Never make the player go through that. Ease up
on the difficulty and at least make it mandatory rather than have players go through
things only to find out that they didn't have to.
Rescue Mission in Lava World: 2/10
This level was not fun. The level begins with a long autoscrolling section with
npc cluttering all over the place. I couldn't move anywhere without running into
something. The same thing happened in the second section. This level should have
been called, "Out of the Frying Pan and Into The Fire" because that was literally
what my experience was like when playing this level. The boom boom fight was very
repetitive as well. Also the luna code didn't work. I'm not sure if it's my problem
or not though.

No, a color-based level contest. It's similar to the visuals contest but is based around color.

Would you consider bosses being an optional part to submitting a level a rule? If not, why did you include this line as a rule?

No, i removed it, so i'll say that a boss is allowed to be added to a level.
(I feel bad for posting this now)

I could have said "I'm entering" and never actually submit a level, if that makes you happy.
If you're trying to add your own rules to the set of rules you copied from Community Contests, at least make them something meaningful. I don't see an issue with giving feedback on the structure of a contest, and my feedback is by no means something you actually have to follow.

You wouldn't need to say that if you weren't planning on entering

Even though thats a good idea, i don't really see what other rules i could add in

Of course it isn't... sorry for reacting negativity

Well I saw this pretty late. XP hahaha
I would've said sign me as a judge, but all spots are taken and I'm not interested in being a backup.
Either way this is a neat idea. I hope more people sign up (sadly I can't).

You know what? I might try to sign up for this. No harm done if I can't finish in time. XP haha
Will the level be accepted if the color scheme is based on the level theme?
(Ice level theme has a palette relative to ice and snow, forest is generally green and brown, lava has reds and other elements that match the environment.)

I created a level, though I'm not sure about it fit to contest theme enough. Maybe I have to do another one.
