I know something that can't be done in Lua: proper 3D (polygons, camera rotation, etc.).

That's a WIP. Technically it works, but gives you 3 fps.
As of now no one has made a LunaLua program that can cure lung cancer.

You can not detect if the player is not touching a bgo at all, but you can make a metorid map with it.

Yes you can. You can get BGOs X and Y coords as well as the player's, so from there it's really easy to detect if you're touching it, and then you can just put a not in front of it.
