Cave of Moving Blocks

A level that I'll never use it for some project. Can't think of a good title.

Note:
Typically a Level Judge requires a screenshot to be viewed on the forum itself instead of having the user go to another site to do so.

Atmosphere [1/5]
Ok, a slightly moving cave...and?
This level had two moving layers, that's it. I don't get how this can be the forefront gimmick, and be used so poorly.
At least the cave portion is true to the atmosphere, but the level didn't do anything to really get the player "involved" and enticed to play the level to be honest.

Level Design [0/5]
-Level can be beat in like a minute and a half
-It uses two moving layers which are horribly mechanical at best.
-Absolutely nothing about this level was really immersive for the player.
-You can actually get yourself permanently stuck with no chance of escape or death:
You just place the key inside the wall, and watch it fall.
Spoiler: show
Image
Graphical Continuity [4/5]
No nothing is really out of the ordinary except the spikes on the cave blocks.
-These spikes dont mesh into the tileset at all.
I honestly can't harp on the graphics since the level barely even has content to speak of, with it being so short.

BGO Placement [4/5]
-Nothing is holding these floating pieces of land up or moving them
-Where is the water going? You could've used water pools to fill in these random useless gaps.
-These weird hills look exactly like the tileset. To be honest, I can't even consider them BGO since they feel like they should be legit hills in the level.

NPC Placement [0/5]
Your NPC placement was awful. It posed no purpose other than to exist.
This level focused so hard on its gimmick that anything else was thrown out the door.
To put in perspective, here is the full amount of NPCS: 41
So, lets remove some here, such as coins and the star. With that, we are left with 12. In this entire level, there are only twelve notable npcs.

There was so much wasted potential in favor of the gimmick.
-You could've easily used swoopers in the more lack-luster areas, such as one in the midway point.
-Podabos to make the lava jumps fair instead of straight instant-killing us for making a bad jump
*The first set of the of enemies didn't impact the level whatsoever.
*The two buzzybeetles in the middle were the only remote challenge. However, I still find their placement a little problematic due to being right after a moving layer (momentum glitches).
*The final section I do not consider, as they only get turned into coins.

Difficulty / Replayability [0/5]
-Level is too short
-Level focused too much on its gimmick
-Level didn't use the gimmick in a creative, interesting or immersive method
-Section 3, nuff said
-Ability to glitch the key outside the level's boundaries
-Lava is pretty easy to die to in the entire level, making it a tad too difficult for its length.
I can safely say I will never play this level again.
Since this level still presents itself as a "because I wanted to" level, I will consider this Casual.

Overall Score: 9/30

Usually a video or image works just fine, as303298.

I really disagree with your review in both its content and the cold way it was wrriten. Short levels aren't necessarily bad. This level said what it had to say, and then was done. Although I agree that coin placement could be improved, I don't agree with you giving NPC placement 0/5. There were no issues with spam or cramped sections with NPCs, and although they didn't pose too much of a challenge, it wasn't awful either. The second section doesn't really need NPCs in my opinion either and much more in the other sections would make them too clustered. I feel like you're really being too critical here. I'd say it at least deserves 2 or 3/5 here. And then in level design you're being kind of rude and that coldness really isn't needed. Saying that you are appalled really isn't needed. Who really cares what's holding the pieces of land up? Again you're being way too critical. You could have easily given a 3/5 or better on this and at least a two on atmosphere.

Please especially consider the tone of your reviews and be a little less critical in parts of your review that don't need it. It seemed like a mix of a giant complaint and a parent scolding their child for being naughty.

Edited by Dracyoshi's request and long discussion.
I still disagree with this level's methods, but after consideration I reconsidered some points and placed this into Average.
