Maybe you can use Lua then. I just would need a Lua tester who can test the Lua levels. (I don't have it)

You don't even have to learn Lua to use its functions though.

I tried getting people into something like this last summer.
I was utterly ignored. Save for a grand total of 2 people who showed interest in the project.

The problem with SMBX community projects is that they go forward without a plan, people make promises they can't commit to, and delays pile up.

I mean to be fair, production takes time and it can go kinda slow but if the host does it's job of putting all the levels together with maybe a followed guideline that the host made it can go along like that.

in my opinion, there needs to be hub collabs in the future. stuff like svlcs and cc12 aren't released yet.
