You know how Talkhaus made the ASMT series? I was thinking that we could do something like that, but with the SMBX.org community.

I know we already have the Tower of Biased series, but I'm talking about us coming togerther to make a legitimate collaborative episode, with a world map and LunaLua, rather than a hub of contest levels. Maybe we could do it when SMBX 2.0 is fully released, to celebrate the new update?

And I'm not saying I should be the one to run this. I've already tried to run an episode, and we all know how THAT turned out

Anyway, what do you guys think?

The Invasion 3 was actually planned to be this at one point, back when Ignoritus and FallingSnow were running it. I understand why it's being done the way it is now though; our work wasn't too Invasion-like tbh.

What would you guys have thought of an anthology-type episode? The anthology part is what would allow people to submit levels based around a central plot idea or setting and have more creative freedom, rather than submit to a linear continuity and require a lot more planning. The cool thing about that idea is how everyone could have a different interpretation of a core concept and, while there wouldn't be a specifically linear story you could make the levels share core elements to make them compatible with each other.

Huh. I thought those were just straight episodes. I never got too deep into those games though.

Random idea:
The NPCs in the game treat you as "SMBX User" and you're given a Mario sprite by default, but there's an option to change your name in, perhaps, the launcher, that changes "SMBX User" in the files to whatever was entered in. Perhaps it even changes the player sprite if a known user is entered and maybe even unique user-specific dialogue could come from that. If this is even possible it might be fun for people to play around with. It depends on how people would want to set the episode though. If it's played as a straight "Mario" game and/or if it's fully intended to use all of SMBX 2.0's playable characters this might get difficult or just plain weird.

With LunaLua you could have the player set their username at the beginning of the game. Maybe we could also do something like Golden Sun and probably countless other RPGs where you are given several different characters, each with their own equipment that you can change out for each other and they all have their own "usernames." But that may promote registering 12 times, so idk.

Anyone remember Super Talking Time Bros and how large of a project that thing was? We should do something similar. We should have a little character who calls you Unca Merio instead of Unca Weegee. That makes it different, right? We should have a large community project that isn't all that strict in its level design...

I agree about not being TOO strict, but we have to have some form of quality control or else we'll have bad levels :/
