This doesn't work for specific users only. If you could undisplay a specific user's sig (with a click on their profile or something) then we wouldn't have that much of a problem with excessively large signatures.

Every signature is annoying anyway

I don't really mind most signatures anymore. The wide layout of this site helps a lot with that too. Makes it easier it wider and thus feel shorter too.
