Is there a way to turn off the music you chose for the level? As in, make it stop playing when you're editing the level. It can get really annoying hearing the loop over and over, and one can get really de-sensitized, making it seem that the music was a decent choice. It really pisses me off.
And no, don't tell me "then just add it at the end", cause that's not what I mean.

Turn off your speakers. If you're using PGE you can toggle music with the Note button.

I think that you should be able to find this button here to help.
You'll see it at the beginning of the super mario bros x menu.

Basically at the splash-screen window on SMBX 1.3, 1.3.0.1 and 1.3.0.2. Apparently it doesn't exist in SMBX 2.0 where you can disable it. Oh and also you can turn off the volume on SMBX via the volume mixer at the bottom right.

That's for sounds, not music.

Choose in ''level setting'' next to the box for custom music ''none''.
If you want to have music in your level, if you uploard it, choose your music and click them.

...but that counts for the overall Sounds that SMBX makes which does include music.

In actual fact, as stated by bossedit8, "Disable Sound" disables the music as well as the sound, so yeah you can use that if you don't want to use music in your level, but that disables everything, including the sounds. If you don't want any music, but you want to keep the sounds, as Cedrik said, just don't use any music at all in the section.

Best option for you:
use PGE Editor. It gets rid of all the editing bugs SMBX Editor had (custom >32 scenery crash, etc.), it's more convinient to work in, it's user-friendly unlike the original SMBX Editor after all(!), and has lots of useful features like copy-paste and stuff. If you already have SMBX 2.0 (Beta), you don't need to download PGE as it's already included with SMBX 2.0 and soon will be the main editor for SMBX stuff.

See the note in the "almost-center" of the picture? That's where you can disable your music while you work on a level in PGE Editor.

Thanks for the support guys, but what I mean is that I just don't want it to play during editing my level, not that I don't want it to play at all, even when testing. Is there really no way for that?

Yes. Turn off your speakers.

You just got some answers from a few people like turning off the speakers or set it to none until you done.

As h2643 said above, you should use PGE. (Link is here:
http://www.smbxgame.com/forums/v ... 69&t=10913)
Turn off the music using the play/stop music button (shown below).

Since you would be testing in the SMBX editor and not the PGE editor, the music will be on during testing.
