Welcome to my SMB2 Expanded GFX-Pack!

A very long time ago (2013) I have made an "Expanded SMBX-Tilesets"-pack, that contained the expansions of some of the tilesets that are featured in SMBX, be it to make them bigger and better usable or just to remove some graphical errors from them, like cutoff etc.

And with this "SMB2-edition" I like to advance a bit furter with that, and expand all the tilesets that can be found in the original SMB2.
But not just that, as this pack now features a lot of fully custom designed tilesets, NPCs, level backgrounds and more, to vastly expand the selection of SMB2 elements to choose from. Also, all the NES-exclusive tilesets are here aswell, all 16-bit rendered and expanded.
And to round it all up nicely, I have done a fully custom SMB2-styled worldmap expansion aswell, meaning you can build whole world maps with this and are not just restricted to HUBs.

Now, with this ninth full version, a lot of new NPCs and blocks have arrived. New sunset-versions of level backgrounds are now available and several mishaps have been fixed. Nearly all the elements (mainly NPCs) from the SMBX2b5.2 update have been restyled or repurposed into SMB2. There are now even camera-facing versions of the Mask- and Hawkmouth doors.

So, without further ado, have some screenshots of the pack, with 2 new ones close to the bottom of this spoiler:

Here is the download of version 9 as a .rar-file:
https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/3kxmpgvd ... mwxa1&dl=0

Changelog of v9:
1: Many tilesets have received at least a few new blocks and/or BGOs. For example, the "Indoor"-tilesets habe gotten custom pillar blocks and BGOs and the "Boss Room"-tilesets have gotten new recolors, floor slopes, eyecandy blocks and BGOs, more than doubling their size.

2: Nearly all of the new NPCs and blocks that came with the latest update of SMBX (Beta 5.2) have received either an SMB2 restyle or a repurpose. For example, the SMB1 small and big castle-BGOs have been changed to accomodate for the function of the new SMB1 flagpole exit. Also, a few (slightly) custom ones have been made too. There are also some camera-facing graphics for the Mask and Hawkmouth-doors.

3: To clean up the structure of some of the tilesets (namely "Misc Blocks" and "Misc BGOS") have had some of their tiles or BGOs moved to other tilesets.

4: Some fixed problems, like dublicate blocks i different folders, wrong parameters in some level background files etc. Thanks to everyone who made me aware of those problems.

5: Again, more little touch-ups on some graphics here and there.

6: The worldmap graphics have been restructured and edited (water and lava-tiles have been greatly enlarged) to be able to utilize transparency. This way one can have worldmaps with land that better connect to the water (No water or lava is drawn on the tile-graphics themselves anymore).

7: Some useless level backgrounds have been replaced by sunset-versions of all the outdoor backgrounds. Now there are day, evening and night versions of all outdoor level backgrounds.
Also contained is a new beach background to go along the beach tileset.

Please note that due to all the updates I made, a lot in this pack has changed and moved around. That means this pack is, like always, not compatible with any previous versions.
There is a lot more that has been altered and added, but since I did all that over the course of 2 years, I cannot list them all. :-P

Please see the enclosed "Please Read"-document in the pack for additional information and credits.

Enjoy building levels with this pack ^-^

Please give credit to me, when using any of the GFX contained in this pack, as it was serious work to edit and make all these. Thanks

The outdoor castle tileset is pretty amazing I must say (as are the rest of them, but that one is my favorite). I love the gray stones/bricks on the tops of them.

Oh wow. This set of creativity and the expandation of the Tileset in Super Mario Bros. 2 looks very amazingly made and I really appreciate that the work is definetly a large customization we have right here. The Bomb-omb Statues and everything related to that are very great and it feels more like a Bomb-omb's Cave and also inside Mouser's Tower/Dungeon/Castle. If I will ever make a SMB2 out of my Level Designing, (maybe) I am gonna use them. Very nice work.

Looks pretty cool and very useful for SMB2 levels. And I've seen that cave and grass tileset before. But it's cool to see that you did the same thing with the rest of SMB2 tileset available for SMBX. I admire your job Sednaiur. Keep up the good work boy..

Shocking as always, so much talent.

You must have gotten used to this but all of your graphics have great shading, design, and fit nicely on Mario levels. My favourite overall from those graphics for now are the golden SMB2 pipes, really original, along with the Fortress Outside tileset. Really good work Sednaiur, keep your amusingness, do not stop amusing us.

Thank you all so much for all the Praise and Comments on this - it really gives me the Coal into my Fire to work onto the final Tilesets of SMB2 8-D
I am working on the "Inside Vase"-Tiles at the Moment, so i try to update this within the next Days.
But also did that silly Guy named Sednaiur forget to include the Opening Effect for the blue Door, so i will also fix this in the next Update. Sorry for that.

I will upload an SMB1-Version of a Pack like this soon. I have completed the "SMB1 Overworld" and the "SMB1 Dungeon". There is only "SMB1 Water" and "SMB1 Underground" left...if i remember correctly :-P

I have released them already some Time before, but i felt they could be of more use, so i have expanded them a Bit more.
I will try my Best for the Future ^^

I just updated the Toppost with an updated Download, that include a single new Tileset (SMB2 - inside Vase), some GFX i forgot to add into the previous Version, and some new interesting Features, like Vases that replace the SMB3-Question Blocks, Vases that can be thrown to break, and my new Invention - the "Ceramics Blaster" that fires Pidgits at you, and many more Things, so we can finally build whole Level Sections, that take Place inside a Vase.
You can check out all the new Stuff at the Screenshot on the Toppost :-)

I hope you enjoy and use them in the Future ;-)

Thanks for making my request! I like the big door too! ^^
Hey hold on a minute! I wanted to use all of these tiles together to make the ultimate SMB2 level! Now I won't be able to use Snow, Desert etc!

Now here's a person who truly can't be satisfied with anything.

Anyways, these should really come in handy for one of my personal levels, especially the overworld stuff.

Well come on on the first update I was thinking "Yes! No more picking and choosing tilesets!" but now it has come to this :(

Because using an ice, desert, grass, cave, and castle tileset all in one level is totally necessary!
