Legend-tony980 strikes back!

Hi, it's me Legend-tony980! And I am... well, you who I am. 8-)

And, by the way, something awful happened to me. I lost all of my files, the graphics, the project, because I reinstalled Windows 7. I even lost Super Mario Bros. X: Alternate Kingdom. But it's okay, as long as what I've done on the web are still here, I can recollect them back for my future plans. Before restating the project, I will edit lots of sprites I've added in Alternate Kingdom's project folder and more of them for the graphic pack.

And look at this: http://www.smbxgame.com/forums/v ... =31&t=1297

So... how are you doing? I see there's a SMBX 1.3.0.1 here. Is there finally a new SMBX developer?! Add the Starman in it, more power-ups, allow Toad, Peach and Link to slide, Link should climb, surprise me please! :D

So, I'm back. It means my work is not over. I don't back down from a fight. 8-)

SMBX 1.3.0.1 is pretty much just a hex edit of some problematic graphics and to remove all traces of supermariobrothers.org and replace them with smbxgame.com

But hey, welcome back, nice to see ya again :-)

Oh. I see. I thought there was already a successor. But yeah, we seriously need a person who is willingly to code for us, for months or years, but forever is better. :geek:

Hello, Legend-tony. Welcome back to the forums! Sorry to hear about your data loss.

By the way, 1.3.0.1 is basically the culmination of all SMBX hacking so far, and nothing more can be done than what was done to create this version. The only things that were changed were graphics, music, and the splash webpage. Nothing actually new (such as the Starman, and adding that would kind of be disrespectful to Redigit anyways) can be added, so don't get too excited.

SMBX 1.3.0.1 probably is NOT what you're thinking of as "finally updated!" It's basically just some graphics fixes, an added default episode, and a change of the in-game site link to this new site. By all means download it if your connection can handle it but it's probably not the miracle update you've been waiting 3 years for, if you really have been waiting with bated breath for an update. Not to mention Valtteri (the guy who is primarily behind it, NOT Redigit/demilogic,) said that since they've made almost all the polishes they can in this update (KIM they don't have the source/source code or anything other than a default 1.3 installation to work from), there probably won't be any MORE updates, let alone a real 1.3.1. But don't let that deter you - I've noticed that the most prolific and happy people in this game's community are the people who would keep making and playing levels even if Nintendo themselves said "All further projects designed to allow people to "make their own Mario" will be persecuted and shut down".
Also you better use my Link redesign I gave you or else!

Hey, tony! How are you doing? Long time since I last seen you somewhere.

It's a shame you've lost your, but if you want I can PM you what I have, I still have it and use it and it's pretty much a great pack. Dunno if you updated it or anything though, so I don't know if it's what you're looking for. Have a great time here man.

Hey, Tony! Nice to see you again, and welcome back to the community.

SMBX 1.3.0.1 is only a really small edit with some graphical fixes and changes to the splash screen, as we don't have the source code and can't update it.

The source code you say? Last time if I remembered, one of the users, a global moderator or a administrator revealed the source code of SMBX on NSMBX forums. I also even met with one of the users who currently was working on SMBX and quit in the end. The latest one was an early teenage kid, I kind of forgot him. I think it's still possible to hack SMBX. What do you think guys? I believe someone still has the source code of SMBX. :|

That wasn't the source code that was released, it was a Visual Basic binary. Although it revealed a few things that we didn't know about (specifically the NameUser cheat), it can't actually be used for anything useful.

What DID the NameUser cheat do anyways?

Nothing, but it's located in the code alongside the other cheats. It doesn't even make a sound if you type it in-game, though.

Yes, it really is me. And there will be even more graphics coming out soon, even some I created a while back for my project. I will do anything for this update being a bigger one than I've ever made. But I'm glad you're enjoying them. :)
