Gargantuan Insect Rainstrom

They're not that bad, but they're not that good either.

Review of Gargantuan Insect Rainstorm

Level Design and Gameplay (weighed 70%): 4.1/10
This level wasn’t very fun to play. It was very boring, repetitive, and contained quite a bit of enemy spam, especially in the final boss battle. There were also some cramped spots that were somewhat unfair to the player due to the clusters of NPCs. The boss battle was really unfair and had a ton of enemy spam; it also never provided the player with any power-ups. Most of the layout was also very flat and linear, which wasn't good for this length of level. There were also too many briefly used ideas, such as the stacking of mushroom blocks that made the level feel somewhat random. These ideas often weren't used very often, so the overall gameplay of the level wasn't very interesting or fun. It did have a pretty good atmosphere though and an interesting concept. The sheer length of this level was crazy as well and the limited amount of variety made it quite a task to play through.

Graphics and Sound (weighed 30%): 2.8/10
The custom NPC bugs were often very pillowshaded and unappealing. They didn't really fit the style of the level either. Most of them looked really flat and the animations overall looked very awkward in some cases. Some of the graphics were also a bit eyesore. The music often didn't fit very well either. It was too upbeat and bright, when the level was very dark and dreary. The music for the inside section was an unusual and poor choice as well.

Overall: 3.71/10 (Average)

Okay, i realized that i probably expected a little too much from the player in terms of the level design and difficulty, i promise
i'll try to make the level more well designed and gameplay more fun and enjoyable, rather than repetitive.

Okay, i realized i didn't do that good on the custom insect npcs, but i had already planned to improve on them, the next time i use the giant insects in a level
i'll make them have better shading and make them look more appealing, But there's one thing i find kind of weird, you were the only judge that
said the music didn't fit, while the other judges said it did fit.

It's kind of strange how, despite you having the most negative things to say about the level, you still gave it the highest score out of the judges
