A World 6 level that will be in my episode. Expect a somewhat challenging level. This is also my weather contest submission. I got permission from "The Thwomp King" to post this.
ENJOY!!
There's also an easter egg in this level. Let's see if you can find it. xP

My review: (unofficial)

Level desing: 8/10
Spoiler: show
It was realy good. The idea of breaking the ice is simple, but nice.

But why become I a Tanooki suit on the end of the level? (Because it is a level from a episode, but why did't you delite it?)
And why Goombas don't fall on the end of platforms?

But the level is realy social: :)
To use a mushroom generator on the point of the level the player must break the ice is fair.

Easter Egg? I don't find it, but if it is in the level, nice!
Music and gfx: 7/10
Spoiler: show
The Paper Mario music is great for the level. :D

The custom background is good.

The gfx was good, but you use realy much background objects.
Sometimes it looks like a chaos. But some level are more spammy with backgrounds.
other points (fair?, gameplay, idea, ....): 6.5/10
Spoiler: show
I say it in level desing, it is fair. (read LEVEL DESING)

The gameplay was ok. Nothink special, but nothink bad.
Final score: 7.2 (8+7+6.5):3=7.16 (~7.2)

In my eyes, your "Bonus Points", such as Fun Factor and Fairness should be the main part of the level's score, rather than being considered "Bonus" (though it depends on what the level's aiming for (I doubt this level is meant to be a non-level, though)).

"The gfx was good, but you use to much background objects (I think)."
Being unsure about your own review is painting yourself in a bad light as a judge. It implies you have no idea what you're actually doing.

It's good that you give my a review for my review.
So I can learn to make better reviews.
I correct my review for this level.

Bonus=other thinks

I put a tanooki suit at the end because it's part of my episode and it's basically used as a bonus. There will be very few of them in my episode and will be hidden in certain levels. This one in particular requires you to stay big throughout the entire level and be able to smash through the ice to get the tanooki suit.

I'm sorry but what? My level is social? Very interesting. I mean I know I'm submitting it to the community and all but still xD. (I know what you meant, I was just making a joke)

I know some were cluttered a little bit, but it wasn't THAT bad lol. I see what you're saying, but honestly, I fail to see what the issue is with the amount of BGOs I placed. Especially since it seems to work out in the level's favor. Oh well. Different people have different opinions.
Cedrik wrote:And why Goombas don't fall on the end of platforms?
If you're referring to the goombrats, I basically did that on purpose because of NPC variety.

I guess the score is somewhat fair, but I feel like the level has been marked down for the wrong reasons. Except the tanooki suit at the end. That one makes sense. I also think that you marked me down a little too much on the level's appearance rather than gameplay. Usually when I review levels, I focus on NPC placement and the level's structure. I do include atmosphere and aesthetics as well, but it's in the minority as far as the score is concerned because it's in 1 out of 3 categories. Oh well. It was an interesting attempt.

Nice video, cedrik! I think that maybe the goombas and koopas should look cold (to go along with the theme of a cold winter land)

Also, here's a soundtrack that would probably be good for a future ice level.

I LOVE the piranha plants! The whole level looks pretty good, I'll play it later.

Frozen Lakepath review

Design & Gameplay: Great
+ The level has loads of positive properties. It's really fun to play and it's very well designed. The NPC placement (and variety) is great, I didn't question anything about it at all, and it's the same case with the coin placement too. The level is relatively hard, but it's not close to unfair at all. (it has a perfect W6 difficulty) I like the way you executed the frozen lake with the smw turn blocks. You placed the star coins well too, since they're cleverly hidden but not brainbreakingly overhidden. Also, the easter egg was amazing in the first section. :D
- The penguin NPC bugs out when it's on a slope. (they turn around sooner than necessary)

Atmopshere & Visuals: Amazing
+ The atmosphere is really cool. (ba dum tss) The music fits the level almost perfectly. The amount of scenery is decent, since there wasn't any BGO spam but it wasn't bland either. I didn't find any clashy graphics either, same case with cutoffs. Overall, the atmosphere is very close to a perfect snow level atmosphere.

Score: 8.5/10
This is a really great snow level with great atmosphere, and most importantly: great gameplay. I'm not surprised it won the weather contest.
