The Arcane Might of Master Spark

Created for Subcon Level Contest
This is actualy Spark Mansion with their boss - Master Spark :)
So, it's he actually:

Level has 3 stars. First two allows to reach the boss and third is final.
A tried to press out of spark theme as much as I can.
Since SMB2 has not much soundtracks, I usen remixes. Mix for the boss is mine, I used starman theme for it (I clearly know, SMB2 has this theme), but made this more rampant.

Also this level has event loop which gets broken after boss is defeated and which would seems impossible without lunadll & lunalua. So what have I done? I just not looped last event to first one, but used invisible NPC generator, which activates first loop event. After boss defeat, NPC generator moves onto the wall, which blocks appearance of new NPCs. So you'll not even hear Masterspark sounds of boss! That's how it works.

This level is pretty good actualy... The problem is that's just the level, the bossfight was long, annoying, ripetittive and easy. The two remixes are pretty bad. the first one (the Wart remix) loopes badly, the second... It doesn't fit the bossfight...

Holy crab! I'm dying! What... that... oh my gosh. I can't stop laughing. That is the best grammatical error I've seen in a long time.

*Ahem* I'll review ( not gonna be offical ) this tommorow when I come back from school. Looks pretty good from the screenshot and the little video I've seen of it.

The Arcane Might of Master Spark review by YellowMe

Level Design & Gameplay: 7.5/10

The level design was quite simple, but charming. There were a lot of pitfalls ( the bane of my existence ), sparks and conveyor belts, though not much else besides that. The coin placement was good; most coins were placed inside blocks, the ones outside felt like a reward for taking risks. The only power-up were given is a mushroom since the level only contains sparks and pitfalls, which is understandable. The enemy diversity isn't there in actuality, since we only get small and big sparks, but the different challanges you pesented using them made it seem more diverse. I found the boss fight to be pretty dull really. It's just a trivial mirrored pattern. The room before the boss was more difficult than the boss itself. Level length was a little bit short. The difficulty could use a little bit of ramping up.

Atmosphere & Visuals: 8/10

The music in the level is quite calm, yet mysterious. Pretty fitting to be honest. Music for the boss could be a bit more intense though. The level lacks BGOs, but the background is so complex that it doesn't need many. Visually, the level is pretty dark, and when you see a spark, it completely contrasts to the darkness so it's easy to spot. Graphics used for this are pretty. I like the way you did the checkpoint, graphically and gameplay wise ( should of mentioned that before huh? ).

Bonuses & Oddities: -0.15 ( added/subtracted to final score )

+ The Master Spark in the name is a bonus in my book

- The background loops oddly
- The fourth platform in section 12 wouldn't move for me once
- Sparks would occasionally teleport ( in the room just before the boss ) if I hit a switch

Verdict: 7.6/10

A challenging, fun and innovative level that has a few minor flaws and could have a better boss battle. Well done litchh!
