Sound Help

Postby *King_Boo* » Sun Dec 27, 2015 4:23 pm

Could somebody tell me where I could get the "key" sound? It's a long story. Also, what is the 1-up sound called in the sound folder?

Imo the key sound is titled "key" in the sound folder, it shouldn't be that hard to find. And the 1-up sound is pretty much obvious ... so what is it? The 1-up got sound effect, that's right.

That's not what I mean. Basically, I was fooling around with the sounds and being stupid and accidentally permanently deleted the "key" sound effect. I'm wondering if there's anyway I can re-download that specific sound. I also accidently renamed the 1up sound effect to "(" and can't remember what it was called before (it's not "1up").

Actually the real name for the 1up sound really is "1up", so it should work if you just renamed it. As for the key sound effect you can download it right here, uploaded it for you. Be sure whenever you're meddling with SMBX's default files to have a backup to prevent these kind of situations.

I would advise in the next time to clarify the problem better when you post to prevent confusion.

It works, thank you. I did have a backup...on my old computer... :/

I've actually run into a problem with sound files...

I'm attempting to use different sound effects (like NSMBWii's "Star coin" sound effect for dragon-coin.mp3, for example, and NES SMB3's "raccoon" sfx), and when I go to test the level, some of those sound files just don't play. What am I doing wrong?

And yes, it's all in the main "sound" folder.

Use LunaLua, and you'll find a way!

Or you could download the SMBX 2.0 beta which has it built in:

Ok, thanks. I'd like to know how LunaLua helps with the sound-file issue I mentioned.

Ok, I DL'd the LunaLua zip file that has the stuff. I extract it to the main SMBX folder, right?

(Sorry, I'm still very new at this.)
