Some good SMB3 shading please.

So I started to design my very first sprite of a boss I want for my project, but the thing is that I know practically nothing regarding shading, which made me make this request. Could someone find a good shading for the following sprite? I'd preffer a mix of grayish blues and grayish oranges.

The eye is rather hexagonical I suppose.
There's a reference sheet for pixel circles somwehere on the webs,
but I don't know where right now, sorry.

try using this, it's really good for making circles
Also, I'd do it for you if I wasn't making a custom boss myself while I'm typing this lol

Lol, I don't remember that?
Usually when you shade, you establish where the sun/light source would be hitting the sprite, usually that is on the top left of the sprite, and have the lightest colors on the top left parts of the sprite, and have them move towards the darkest colors of the sprite near the bottom right of it. The decision where the light source is is entirely arbitrary, although usually top left or top right are used

Well I tried. It looks like a dildo but here's one way to shade it, I guess.

@Uncle Sam: That shall help me a lot, thanks, I'll think about it for my next sprite.
@Valtteri: Thanks, it looks really well shaded, it shall work very well, but I'll have to low the color tones a little bit.

It's also better to start with smaller sprites first when you first begin, larger sprites are much more difficult
