EDIT2: Removed bullet blasters, removed some coins, removed sky section, changed a few secrets around, changed a few npcs.
EDIT3: Replaced the outdated screens (finally) and cleaned up the thread a bit...

Not bad. ~
Although I think a few more enemies here and there would be nice it wasn't very bad. The only thing I would say is swap out the SMB3 blocks for something else because they don't look like they fit in that much.
It was decent length, can't complain about the music, and it was just pretty relaxed. Cheers. ~

UNOFFICIAL REVIEW of A STANDARD GRASSLAND by DARKWOLF658
Design (4.5/10)
A simple grasslands level, nothing really special. I could see this working as the first level of an SMBX episode, as it was very linear and easy. However, I feel you needed to add more to the level. It was about 45 seconds long, with no bonus sections or Dragon Coins or anything else to do besides just get to the exit.
Atmosphere (5/10)
I mean, the graphics looked alright but the way they were used was very...basic, to say the least. There's really nothing going on besides a few shrubs. The level needs some trees or sizables to make things more interesting.
Other Comments: .
Overall 4.75/10 (Average)
Not a bad level by any means. It's just a basic grasslands level with nothing really unique.

No very bad, but no very good level.
It is a simple gras level with nice custom gfx.
But look to the 1st screenshot. You can glitch there. This is not good level desing.
And on every screenshot there is a bullet bill canon. This is much.
One one screenshot there is a bullet bill canon on a woodblock. This is ok, but they go to the bottom. I think this sees not very good.
But all in all it is a ok/good level.
My score: 5,8/10

Cedrik, that is not a review. Your comment wouldn't give the designer an idea of your full opinion on the level. Why not try to explain what you did and didn't like or give suggestions on what could be improved? A single sentence and score is not helpful. You've done this before too and I've told you to give more detail.
Please consider giving constructive feedback and correcting your spelling errors. I mean refer to Turtwig's post. He made a review. Please try to start writing more along the lines of that when making a review or at least giving more detail in general feedback. ~

This isn't really better bc you shouldn't judge by the screens at all.

I must, because the downloard link does not work.

Well technically the link did work, although you would've had to copy and paste it. Still I don't see screenshots as something that would affect the final score of the level, especially as not all are perfect. You should judge a level on its own merits. ~

Thank you for your review. Yes the level was supposed to be short. I won't update the level, at least not unless there is something level breaking, but i might do a small graphical/scenery update.

The glitch part was actually not intended, but I don't think it breaks the level too much. And there are only 3 (4?) bullet bill cannons, which isn't a lot if you ever played Super Mario World. And I think you are talking about the slight bullet bill cutoff? Thats not really bothersome (at least to me), but i might change that if i do a graphical update.

This level having bill blasters, I think it fit more as a 1-3 level. Maybe you can add like 2 pipes as obstacles, some sizable blocks to make it less linear and someting like around ten more coins through the level.

Updated the level. Check the main post for the update notes.

I see you added sizable block. You need to encourage the player to jump on it, like by placing some gold coins here. Make the sizable with a height of three blocks minimum, two is kinda low (Mario jump easily a height of 4 blocks), and combines at least two sizable blocks together if you wants to create some kind of hills.
For the coins, you added too much of them now. This could be acceptable if the time spent in the level was limited with a countdown like a classic mario game, forcing the player to avoid losing time to pick everything up at the risk of losing a life, but otherwise it only provides a easy way to gain a 1-up. I advise you to remove one of the two hidden bonus rooms too. I think a total of 70~75 coins, dragon coins non included, is enough.
Too much bonus too (1 mushroom + 4 fire flowers). You really only need 3 for a level of this length, one near the beginning, one at midway and one... well, anywhere not too cloose of the previous ones. Maybe in a hidden bonus room?

I don't think any World 1 level should have bullet bill blasters

I agree about Bullets Bill not being a common thing in a world 1 in any classic Mario game, but it's not like it exists a "Thou shalt have no bullet bill blaster in world 1" rule written in marble.

Another mini update

; got rid of any and every bullet blaster; debated adding banzai bills, but decided against it; removed the sky section and some of the coins. Just use the v1.1 link as I'm too lazy to rename the zip again.

MY UNOFICIAL REVEIW
this level has great quality ,
it was tricky to get here with big Mario
music is nice , but it is already in the smbx music files (why did you decrease the quality )?
OVERALL 6.9/10(not the best, but pretty damn good)

Now that's what I call, great design on the level tiles for the beginner-level SMBX Players! Keep it up.

I don't like the idea you got here, why would you want us to constantly jump while crouching or otherwise glitch through just to get a power-up?

I actually changed that in a later version to a 1up.
I should really update those screens right?
Edit: They are updated now...
