Super Mario: One Last Time

Postby Moonknight702 » Sat Nov 14, 2015 11:09 pm

Hello! I'm here to show you a project I recently got back to working on! Check it out, and tell me what you think. Just download the file, and put it in your SMBX worlds file, should work fine.

This looks pretty okay so far. It could use improvement though.

Seems a bit bland but a very good start nonetheless.

May I advise you try to use some custom graphics to spice up your levels. Adding coins, background objects and making levels interactive are also some things to consider.

Looks like so far you have a couple pre-levels and then a 1-1.

If I were you I would have made more progress than that before a topic, but there's no going back now!

I'd sooner educate a newbie on design before CGFX as it builds better potential for great levels. Also, if you're a smart person who continued reading after Bryan's post, be a decent person and don't fill this topic with posts bashing him for suggesting GFX. This is 2015, not 2013.

Don't get me wrong either, people can create some really amazing levels without custom graphics but I was just asking him to consider custom GFX to add some spice and originality to his project. For example, a custom background or tileset can catch the attention of your audience. Why? Because it sets it apart from all the other projects and that's what you want to aim for.
