Here's an unused object in the original Super Mario Bros., which is a flagpole top that functions like a vine.
Here's the object:

(The color of the ball changes depending on the theme, like, for example, placing it in an underground level using a level editor can make it blue)
So, I thought I would make a 16-bit version of it by taking one of Dr. SVH's ripped SMB1 GFX and recoloring three of them depending on the themes. (There are 4 themes in SMB1, but placing something like this underwater would make no sense, even by Mario standards in my opinion).
Here are the results: (I made a quite hardcore mini level out of it because why not)

Huh... interesting unused object. Never thought of having something like that and actually discover it and make a use out of it. It does look alright as I see even though it's also a bit weird how dots are climbables but eh, it's Mario so it's not supposed to make sense in a way. Nice one~.

That snow sure looks fluffy. Also nice background.
However, I think these steel cheins or whatever these gray things are supposed to be, need some more shading.

This is a nice gray airship level you have right there. Looks very challenging from the screens alone. Let's hope I can see more progress on this in the future...

To me I think it's already dark enough for the atmosphere since after this level it gets even darker for sure... at least that's how I planned in my Airship Attack 2 Episode.
