Okay so I want people's opinions on this. I think we're kind of scaring new people away by literally calling their levels trash, I mean sure, levels in there are bad but if they've never had any criticism they can't know what's good or not. So I'd suggest to change the name to something less rude, "Room for Improvement", by example.

But Average and Pretty Good are already "Room for Improvement".

i do think the trash can should be removed YES

Ludwig Von Koopa: Let me tell. In begin, when i was 9 or 10 years i am register here and look at levels, trash can. I was think too like you what they must be average, pretty good or the best. But then, i'll begin watch in levels, any block, any distance, any design! And you know what? I was did mistake, that levels really must be in trash can... Just play all levels of trash can and forget about than, that you said only NOW.

I'm not saying the trash can should just vanish. I'm trying to say they should change THE NAME.

The Trash Can must be The Trash Can. Its a big logic. Joey control his forum, i think the name of Trash Can will NOT change.

We don't need to sugarcoat things. If it is bad enough to receive a 2/10 or below, it's trash can quality. If you seriously get scared off simply over your level being sent to the Trash Can, then there's something wrong with you.

Pretty much this actually. Idt anyone gets really scared by it and most people don't even care about it tbh.

I think it should just be left as the "Trash Can". If users can't admit that their levels could become better and get sad about a name or categorization, they're too immature to be on a forum like this. The name of the trash kind of motivated me to make better levels because I didn't want my level in there, but even if it did end up there I really wouldn't have cared. Also, if newer users don't want their levels in the Trash Can, they could just improve their levels and not post the very first level they make, or post in Casual Levels.

Trash Can doesn't sound insulting or offensive...

One of the reasons it's called that is because this forum is based on Redigit's old forum at SMB.org, and it had a section called Trash Can. In fact, I originally suggested on another SMBX forum about the idea of adding a Trash Can, but it was turned down quickly because the name was pretty offensive. It's the same here. New users join up, are eager to share their levels, and most of the time, it's either sent to Average or, in extreme cases, the Trash Can. As you stated in the first post, it's like calling the levels trash, but I need to elaborate further and state that some of the level judges (this being an example) have to explicitly state that the level is not trash in the first place. The description also says: Levels posted here need a lot of work before they're ready to be played, which suggests that the levels are ridiculously broken and no-one would want to play them. This could be true for the kaizo-like levels, but even newbies who are starting out on SMBX that make their first level, and it gets sent here, fall under this descriptor as well. This could be really insulting for those people because they don't know how to improve it further, because they probably don't know about moving layers/events/custom graphics/custom music and the like because you're forced to update it beyond what you can update it to. This could also explain some of the elitist nature of the community as well.

TL;DR: I would definitely want to see it renamed.
