I am proud to present you my SMBX HD Graphics Mod. Please note, this mod is NOT using any custom sprites, it will basically mod whatever sprites and graphics you have in the game and apply an HD filter to it.
1- Q : What is it?
A: It is a graphics mod that uses existing post process injector technologies to give a more HD look to SMBX
2- Q: How does it work?
A: Simple, a custom DLL placed in the game folder is loaded at the same time as the game, and some setting files with the info of what effect to apply are also loaded
3- Q: What is required?
A: This mod ABSOLUTELY requires LunaLoader, because the injector works with OpenGL (which regular SMBX is not)
4- Q:How to I install?
A: Simply extract all files to your SMBX (the one with LunaLoader.exe) folder. A custom Luna.dll is included that allows the game to be rendered in stretched 16/9 **Credit to Kevsoft for helping me with that**
Download : https://www.dropbox.com/s/g4ziap3sr8gda ... 3.rar?dl=0
Hope you enjoy!!
PS: Name of the mod is Violins77 and not Violince because it is my usual name, but I couldn't register to the forums with that name...

Interesting. I have seen this before in emulators, but it's definitely a nice feature to have in SMBX.
Gotta try it out soon.

basically this looks like everything is super saturated, and then was oil-painted on paint.net. Idk if that is the screenshot quality, or if that is literally what it looks like.

It is more saturated, I tweaked it that way and it fits the game well in my opinion, but these can easily be changed. The filter is basically HQ4X, which is indeed available in many emulators.

I can't say I'm a huge fan of the way it's kinda stretched and the additional saturation, but otherwise it's really cool!
Is it possible to add more shaders to the game? Because there are several that'd be really cool to have, especially if we can load them from lunalua and turn them on and off when certain code is run.

After reading your feedback on the filter, I think I will do another presets with just the HQ4X filter and no other effects, as some of you don't seem to like the vibrance (saturation) and gamma jump that I did with this one. I will post this version here when I do it. Thanks for the feedback!

The shaders I used are post process injection, I doubt they could be called from within the game. However, there is a WHOLE lot of shaders available in this suite.

It's decent and nice, but I think I'll stick with my classy pixelated stuff.

Wait, are those screenshots actually what the game looks like with the mod?
If so,and no offence, it looks HORRIBLE.
I agree with Wkay above me,I'll stick with normal pixels thanks.

It does look like that. It might not be for everyone, but there is no going back for me. I used these filters all the time with emulators as well.

First of all thanks a lot for this! An HQ4x filter for SMBX is more than I could ask for
I am trying to get this work with SMBX 1.3.0.1, I get this when I start with LunaLoader.exe:
Could you tell me what version of SMBX and LunaLua should I use? (I am quite new to this forums and SMBX)

Could you take a clearer picture or post the text from the error report? The picture's to blurry to see anything.

Thanks for this. It broke the sound though. I was able to edit it back down to hq4x only and change it to fit my resolution, but the sound would not work.
When I tried replacing lunalua.dll with the original one it continued to work, but no longer stretched to widescreen.
Any suggestions?
