I don't know if this is really necessary or if it results in too much hassle for if ripped, the graphics usually result in 1x1 pixel... As I surprisingly saw in SUPERMARIOGRIFFIN'S flaming on the forums
http://www.smbxgame.com/forums/v ... 31&t=11336 . Does anybody have any advice on this for me...If it can be done, the npc, shadow and text file?

What is the point of this thread? Are you asking whether or not people should rip graphics from other games or do you have questions about the problems graphics that have already been posted?

We could use this for talking about the graphics we have ripped from other games so far.
The customizability is definitely one of the strong points of SMBX, and it's actually quite easy to find graphics that don't result in 1x1 pixels. In terms of atmosphere I think it is often worth it, since the different tilesets work on wildly different ways, and can sometimes even complement the default Mario tilesets. It's a good way to make something we have not seen on the engine before too. Tileset conversion is pretty easy to do using the recent tools, like the recoloring thing posted earlier, and other programs that can split large tilesets to be usable on SMBX. One of the big problems I've had to work around though, is the lack of background tiles, which kind of limits what I can or cannot make easily. I recently tried to convert Turrican2 tileset for a level I was making for example, but quickly run out of BG tiles on the stone walls alone. It was still good practice for making custom graphics, if nothing else.

You have to double its size or redraw your graphics to needful form.

Or just roll with them as long as the graphics used are consistent, or they look neat anyway. You cannot really double BG tiles easily, so those will again take some extra work if you go this route.

The problem I have with example I once ripped plants vs zombies graphics but the pixels were all 1x1 pixels and therefore makes it a lot harder to make a mask for the required npc or background so far. As I said in the top SUPERMARIOGRIFFIN tried to rip angry birds starwars gaphics, a good idea if it can work for smbx, but therefore needs to be perfected. Instead of spending hours filling in 1x1 pixel blocks to make a shadow, I have seen paint.NET can fill likewise colours at once. But I have taken the Angry birds star wars graphics and created a working complete npc, although I havent fixed the 1x1 pixel yet. I will place a working npc of a tribal pig solidier once I have tried to perfect the problem at hand, for I think that graphics will be pretty cool

You can use png2gifs tool that comes with PGE, so that you don't have to worry about masks at all. You just need to make PNGs with transparency, and give it to the program, which turns them to 2 gif files. I've made masks for entire folders of graphics this way before. There is also a gifs2png tool that reverses this process, in case you want to edit the graphics easier later too.

Thanks I will try that sounds great, I'm sure then it will be alot faster, Im sure it will go viral with these kind of styles of graphics, there are many complication I ripped a character from a nintendo 3DS game, snowman fighter, Pretty cool clay styled guy, tried to replace him as bowser worked for hours but there was a height problem. But I think angry birds starwars will be a cool rip. As for the program you mentioned sounds to good to be true for me as I spend forever with these rips...Thanks for the advice

I can see how that may seem a bit complicated...It does not bother me Merve, I thought it would be worth a try trying to get other console characters onto smbx, I managed to get a screenshot and then take the character on its own out of any background that the 3DS character was in, but it's not possible for that kind of character to work in smbx anyways due to 1x1 pixel and if it gets saved as a GIF file the whole graphic colour formation gets messed up

BTW Here is a working npc of a tribal solider of angry birds starwars...Please note that it is not perfect and still is 1x1 pixel...I will now attach multiple files of 1 npc replacing the goomba

Since a txt file cannot be attached create one called npc1.txt and put the following details
width=98
gfxwidth=98
height=93
gfxheight=93
frames=2

I like how it's exactly the same like the one from Griffin. Also if it's still 1x1 it won't fit
