Hi everyone! So I believe this is my first time ever posting in any SMBX forum. I've been playing SMBX for quite a while and checking out everyone's episodes. I've played at least 80% of all of the episodes posted in this SMBX forum (excluding episodes in archived threads, as they usually don't have active download links any longer). I've been creating my own levels for even longer (yes I started creating level before I started playing...). I've been a professional graphic designer for even LOOOONGER. I am not sure why I've never posted anything I've made. Possibly the chance of 100% negative or unconstructive critique?

I've spent a lot of time reverse engineering my favorite episodes, or episodes with intense events sequencing.

Anyways. I think it's time I made something for you guys. My brother loves my levels. But him and I are really into puzzles and engineering. I haven't seen anything similar to what I create. Which is what deters me from creating a whole episode. I'm wondering why this is not something which has been previously done. I'm hoping it's because nobody has taken the time to engineer/design these types of levels, and not because my brother and I are a rare breed when it comes to SMBX episode appeal.

Sooooooo here's the basics:

  1. World Hub - I lub hubs. I don't know why, I just do.
  2. Stars - I love "collect the stars" episodes. Especially when there are multiple stars per level. (Similar to Star Expedition)
    • I plan on utilizing this concept immensely
    • I do not plan on having every level contain the same number of stars.
    • I do plan on telling you how many are in each level.
  3. Puzzles. This is rarely done. Especially for an entire episode. "Super Puzzle World" is the closest to a full episode I've seen. Super RMN Bros has a few puzzles.
    • I will include the basic "maze" style puzzles & the switch block puzzles
    • I also have figured out how to create levels in which you map out your path and movements, then hit "go" and sit back and hope you told your character to jump when you want them to jump, duck when you want them to duck, attack when they need to, etc (these are my brother's favorites)
    • I've made a few levels which take place on the map. As in levels from the map view... not a side scroller. Yes I used the World editor, not the Level editor.
      • The only issue here is how often I run into bug problems. The levels are awesome, but the time it takes to sort out the bugs may not be worth it. I currently do not have any levels in the world editor that are bug free, completely. But none of them are unplayable. Maybe I will upload one and see if there are any good coders out there that can help (Coding Is a hobby of mine, not a profession)
  4. Custom Graphics...
    • I'd say about 85% custom graphics, all which are/will be made by me and only me.

Also, I may have to end up issuing a modified version of SMBX (like ASMBXT). Which might be a pain in the ass for some people.

What I'm asking is, is this something that ANYONE would be interested in playing?

Cool story but you can't post here without providing screenshots of levels in your project. I will unlock this once you send me screenshots in a PM.
