We only have three more months of 2015 left; no better time to start working on my little tribute to the 30th anniversary of Super Mario Bros!!

So, how best to celebrate three decades of Mario?
WITH A DEMO FOR AN UPCOMING MINI-PROJECT OF COURSE!!
I plan to release a short little episode, maybe about 10-15 levels, dedicated to the SMB 30th Anniversary, and featuring a new graphics pack from MFGG sprite artist Mit and myself. Nothing special, just a little tribute to all those years of kicking turtles into pits, eating fungi that grow from solid metal, and saving princesses from ox-tortoises.
This is the first level of the game. You may notice some familiar territory near the start, but be prepared. The Mushroom Kingdom is not quite the same as you remember.
Let'sa go.
~SCREENSHOTS~
Time has worn down this old, familiar road... its time has come and gone...
And yet, as each tale comes to a close...
...A new story waits to be told.

judging for the screens, the SMW "?" sign didn't fit with custom styled tileset like that IMO, and the design looks okay.

I made a few changes to the tiles, and included an edited sign that... isn't... shown in the screenshot... but anyway.
Give it a try! See what you think. ^_^
And see if you can unlock any hidden surprises. ;3

This level only has one major flaw, and it's the unnecessarily long intro.
Just make the player start in the actual level and i'll be happy!

I was being sarcastic like many people in this community are (SARCASM).
It really is a great level (NOT SARCASM).

Official Review
I found this level really didn't fit in the levels forum, it's a good 1-1 level, but I felt that I was missing a lot of backstory to really understand what was going on. The first section of the level was very basic but had a nice atmosphere of a wasteland to it. It was really bland, but that made sense so I won't doc points for that. The second section utilized very unique graphics and level design was good, but not great. The level was too short and I found the way to get to the end on my first try. There's nothing complainable about the overall design, it was just too short. There was an issue however with the graphics, it seemed that a few of them were missing. There were snow blocks randomly scattered throughout the ground and the dragon coins and piranha plants didn't fit at all in this unusual style. There were also only three dragon coins, and they weren't placed overly well (mostly in the main path). Overall this level used some interesting concepts and graphics but it was just too short. However, there wasn't really much bad in this level in terms of design.
4.3/10 (Average)
