Well, There is one more option, Make Amiibo Playable characters, Ive already made a wii fit trainer and im making a goomba.

All we have now is the amiibo costumes.
To be honest I think those should deserve a 16-bit version especially since that it is only in the Super Mario Bros. style and they don't look that great in 8-bit.
Who literally thought that they would also be in SMB3, SMW, and New super Mario bros U style (Oh boy I think I know why)?
