Why should people do that? With this you can play on Linux and Mac.

Also the description is almost a damn ripoff from here. Also:

Known Issues
None

Don't know how I didn't see this before but

*pulls off glasses*

MY GOD MAN IT WORKS

Mac OS X 10.10.5 by the way

YOU'RE A HERO EGG Image

Edit: LunaLua doesn't appear to work though, I tried playing The Invasion Redrawn and it took a LONG time to load the world map. It did get there after several seconds (with the player as Demo and the custom sounds and stuff), but upon trying to actually enter a level it either crashed or took an outrageously long time to load the level; I waited for over a minute then stopped trying. qq but vanilla SMBX stuff (including regular custom graphics and NPCs) works perfectly.

I haven't extensively tested LunaLua under OS X. But I've made and tested quite a few scripts under Linux before with no real issues being presented. The Invasion Redrawn is kind of sort of broken however so :P

OK, good to know. I haven't actually tried any other LunaLua stuff. I definitely will to see if it generally works or not.

The Invasion redrawn has A LOT OF custom graphics (almost entire set of players, blocks, NPC's, etc.), therefore it may loading a long time. It's just an copy-pasta of The Invasion 1 which I made to test custom musics and sounds stuff. So, you can remove all custom graphics (all GIF files) from that folder and play episode with custom sounds/musics only with built-in graphics

Yeah it might've just been the custom graphics I guess. Other levels seem to load really quickly for though, even when they have a lot of custom graphics. I'll just have to try out something else with LunaLua to confirm either way.

I've basically confirmed that it's not Lua that breaks SMBX with this method, but rather alternate player skins. SMBX will occasionally fail to load levels and will consistently fail to load the world map after completing a level if you use custom graphics to replace the player. I believe that this is why the Invasion Redrawn wasn't working for me, since Mario is replaced with Demo. Hopefully this doesn't affect 2.0's new characters...

Hey, Axiom, now since I storing LunaLUA on a faster server, I'll make a symbolic link which will always point to latest version of LunaLUA-SMBX, so, please use this link in your script: http://wohlsoft.ru/LunaLua/LunaLUA-SMBX-latest.zip
it's stable, fast, and always latest build! (I forced my script to update this sym-link when update was been uploaded and requested)

Also, Pseudo-Dino, I updated "The Invasion Redrawn" and I removed most of custom graphics (because SMBX is not like completed overwrite with CGFX, therfore I made it to be much smaller and don't overload it with jobs to reload everything)

I tested it on my Macbook Pro 15'' Mid2012 with Intel Graphics HD 4000 1GB, 16 GB DDR3 Ram, Intel Core i7 2,6GHz and OSX Yosemite 10.10.4.

It worked perfect and it was super easy!! Thanks.

Here are some screenshots to show people the installation steps and the game.

You even can take updated LunaLUA-SMBX package with downloading fresh here: http://wohlsoft.ru/LunaLua/#links , but Axiom must update his script, because I made a meta-link which will be pointed to always-latest build, therefore no need to update script every LunaLUA release

OS/Distro?
Needed a latest version of Wine, needed to install VBRun-6, VCRun2015 and DirectX 9.
It works at me on Linux Mint. Needed LunaLUA-SMBX, regular SMBX will NOT work correctly because Microsoft MCI (audio engine originally used by SMBX, but then replaced with SDL Mixer X in LunaLUA-SMBX) sucks.

Try to take latest LunaLUA-SMBX yourself (http://wohlsoft.ru/LunaLua/), unpack it into PlayOnLinux's drive and replace that was presented, check out is that shortcut correct in PlayOnLinux and point it into that exe, then retry again

At me is working a latest 17.3 on same Cinnamon.
