Wintery Path

A level I whipped up in a day. I used the snow graphics from The Invasion 2 to make it look good.
I've always wanted to make a snowy level, but I'd never had the chance to
steal borrow graphics from The Invasion 2 until now.

I'm not sure who made the white recolour of the SMB3 grass tileset and the white recolours of various BGOs, but it sure wasn't me. I'm not taking any credit.

My Review:
This level was alright but had a bunch of things that need to be fixed. Probably the biggest mistake in your level was that you included normal water (especially after the checkpoint) that even had cheep cheeps swimming in it. Second of all, there are a ton of coins lying along the ground which really isn't too appealing. In most circumstances, coins look a lot better and less messy if they are at least two blocks away from the ground surface. There were also no winter NPCs in this level, but the ice physics were incorporated well. The dragon coins were also too easy to obtain. The path leading to the 1st dragon coin in the sky in section 1 is also a little wonky, as there is a vanilla smb3 wood block that looks really out of place in a snow level. I'd recommend finding a custom graphic of the block that has snow on top to make it look more natural, similar to what you have near the middle of section 1 by the checkpoint. I also didn't like the blind jump down from the first dragon coin, as you have no indication as to where the pit or NPCs are. The second dragon coin is not at all difficult to get and I didn't really like the 1-up sitting on the ground. An invisible ? block containing the 1-up would have looked a lot better. I didn't like the look of the coin-in-ice-block placement near the end, as it looked a bit excessive and messy with the one floating in the air at the end. It would also be extremely difficult to acquire the fire flower at the beginning as a stand-alone level to even get the coins out of the ice. BGO placement was satisfactory, but I didn't completely like the mix of SMB1 recolours and SMB2 BGOs. Overall this level was quite short, contained a critical error that really took away from the overall experience of a snow level, and looked a bit messy.
Overall Rating: 3.2/10
