While I also thought the same thing, about the original site being taken down, Joey's probably right, and we'l probably be fine. SMWCentral has ads similar to these up and it's been up for almost 10 years now.

There are plenty of Mario fansites with advertisements on them. We'll be fine guys.

If it was OpenCandy that counted as advertising and not the image ads, there's nothing to worry about.

No what redigit did was that he used copyrighted stuff and got his money with that by ads. Thats why Nintendo did that. I doubt Joey is gonna do that.

Het i just these "ads" on the place Where the features were and i sorta panicked out.

And now Joey is aswell, do you think Joey will get sued by those japanese fellows again for making money with their copyrighted concept
Making him forced to delete the forums and everything on it!

I don't think the site is going to be taken down.
I do think this is not something he should do, featured stuff should get featured because it's good, not because Joey get's money from them.

You have the wrong idea. It's supposed to be ad space for websites. I took the opportunity to use that space to advertise my project, for kicks. Featured episodes will be featured in the newsletter.

I'm completely fine with these ads, they're actually a good replacement for featured stuff (imo).

Ads are pretty important to run for the website, and i don't seem to have problems with it right now. Maybe some time later someone might put some dumb stuff on like some ads on SMWCentral.

The difference is that Redigit hosted a lot of Mario fangames on his site.

Could you please remove the ad with the bad word? I wouldn't mind as much if it wasn't the only ad.

I think he meant the "Worst Things For Sale." It has that one bad word RIGHT when anyone looks at the forums. Probably the very first.

I'd say I'm not worried about the word more or less the picture instead... :/

Ugh, so the site has gone '' that route''

That Ad banner looks so ugly as a replacement for a once good looking site bar at the top.

Now reduced to an add so someone can make money.
I guess I'll just have to endure it.

So far this split into a 50 50 again. Onr half likes it and the other doesn't.

What's up with the new US ad. It's really odd.
