Smw background of Bowser's castle's exterior

Hi ! I made these backgrounds that replaces background 2-1 (the first smb3 background with the blocks) and background 2-2 (smb3 sky), that represent the exterior of Bowser's castle, with a wall on the foreground with statues of bowser carved in it, and clouds and towers in the background. I made the sky pink with purple clouds in order to get an atmosphere close to the last bowser road in SM64, ideal in my opinion for a last level. As the clouds and towers replace the smb3 sky, they dont move as much as the wall when you walk and it gives a great feeling of distance and depth. You have to test it in-game to really feel it but it's working really well.

Pretty cool, uh ? Tell me what you think and please use it, I would be very happy to see this used in one of your projects ! Don't bother giving credit. ;)

Credits to valteri for the bowser statues i added to background.

EDIT :

I added a variant replacing 2-3, the smb3 hills :

This looks okay, the brick pattern is really bland and lacks intrique to it past the bowser statues, and the far off towers are somewhat awkward, I don't see this working with many levels as the style is...odd, it's like a cheaper Mario and Luigi theme, but if you actually made this from scratch, then uhh...damn, you seemed to put some time into this.

I actually like the brick pattern. It's simple enough and cool enough to be a good background.

Thanks TheKingOfBoos ! Yeah the idea was for it to not be too distracting. I didn't do this exactly from scratch ir recolored, combined and tweaked elements from yoshi island backgrounds so that it would work, that's where the wall pattern comes from by the way. But it did take me a few hours yes

Edit : I added a variant, not sure wich is best

That almost feels like something out of a SMW Hack. It's pretty cool and ingenious, plus, I actually like it better than the default ones in a way. Also, the brick pattern works well with SMW graphics, because they themselves aren't overly detailed with many colours. I'd certainly like to see more of your graphics in future.

True, it feels like it's from a SMW hack.
I like to use this in my project, but I have no ideas yet.

Anyway, the brick design is good, though it looks like a redrawn graphic to me. (notaninsult)

Thanks both !

I Re-Edited the variant, now I'm pretty satisfied with how it looks, it seems really complete and less bland.
