Input Issues

Postby mktrilogyfan » Fri Feb 07, 2014 2:06 pm

I have a strange issue with smbx recognizing my input devices.

Originally, I used two xbox360 controllers, and they were detected instantly.

After installing a Mayflash N64 controller adapter for my project64 emulator, I began having issues with smbx.

All of the other programs and emulators I use detect my xbox360 controllers no problem, but for some reason, smbx wont detect them unless the Mayflash adapter is plugged in.

Even at that point, the xbox360 controllers are detected as joysticks 3 and 4, leaving slots 1 and 2 for my n64 controllers.

I would be fine with this if smbx was fully compatable with the n64 controllers, but some buttons aren't recognized.

When I take out my adapter, no controllers are detected.

So, although I can still play the game fine with my xbox360 controllers, it is just a major inconvenience having to have a ton of extra hardware plugged in just to make the game playable.

This problem also applies to the level editor mode...its real frustrating.

I know its a strange and petty issue, but can anyone help?

Fixed the issue.

After uninstalling, and reinstalling.

Realized it has nothing to do with the program itself.

Control Panel > Devices and Printers > Set up USB game controllers > Highlight desired controller and click advanced, and then select it as your preferred device. Works now, has priority over any other controller.

I considered deleting my post because I don't need further assistance.

This may be helpful to others with the same issue, so I'll leave it.
