Colorless Bramble Swampy (Camacho's best level 2015)

Postby Alagirez » Thu Jul 16, 2015 9:46 am

Honestly, this is my first bramble level. This is a spooky level, with creepy music and hard level.
- I didn't recolor the "!" switch. Sorry
- I recommend you Use Mario or Luigi in this level. Using other characters will make this level more harder.
fixed.

I wanted to play this level and review it since Friday, but there is one problem:
It says 'Runtime error 13, type mismatch' and I didn't find any decimals in the npc files. Can you link a patch for me? (and other ppl with decimal problems)

Ah... Like those black/white styled levels. (No, I'm not a fan of creepy stuff, I just like those black/white stuff). Good level overall, though I wouldn't find it creepy if the music changed into something "non-creepy."

EDIT: After playing, I got stuck on the pipe that goes to the switch block. I'm guessing that this is the same version as the contest?

Colorless Bramble Swampy Review

Design & Gameplay: 9/10 (counts 70%)
This level is great over-all. The difficulty is challenging but still not unfair in every way. The powerup vs. enemy ratio is fair, also the length of the level. The fun factor is high and the level has replay value too. The level didn't feel repetitive thanks to the different gimmicks. (platforming, swimming, spin-jumping, etc) The NPC placement is well done. The combination of Mario and DK enemies worked in this level right. The coin (banana in this case) placement is also very good.
Some parts were a bit more difficult than the rest of the level but it's still acceptable.

Atmosphere & Visuals: 9.5/10 (counts 30%)
The music fits in this level very well. There isn't clash or cutoffs. I liked the black & white graphics of the level. The atmospheric feeling is very high in this level, almost perfect in my opinion. Also, this level has some creepy feeling but it's still not a creepy level, so this adds to the atmosphere a lot too.

Score: 9.2/10
