SMB1 World 1 dungeon (re-)review
Design & Gameplay: 4/10 (counts 70%)
The overall difficulty of the level is fair overall. The curve is good, same with the powerup vs. enemy ratio. But the level was a bit short in my opinion. The NPC placement was decent, but the firebars were a bit close to each other. The fun factor isn't low but it's still not a fun level to play.
Placing coins on the ground isn't a good idea, only in few cases. Invisible blocks+enemies aren't too good next to each other, because the player can hit the invisible block, then fall down to the npc and hit himself/herself. Also, the level lacks of replay value.
Atmosphere & Visuals: 3/10 (counts 30%)
The music was fitting in the level.
There is some clash but still acceptable.
There was a misplaced ghost house pillar around the 4 firebars in the air. Also, try to stick at one style for things that have multiple styles in vanilla smbx. (I'm talking about the lava) The overall atmospheric feeling was a bit low in the level.
Score: 3.7/10
