I thought it would be cool if you could make switch palaces in SMBX without using LUNA or any program downloaded from the computer except SMBX. What do you guys think?

Well, alone that SMBX doesn't have that kind of functionality as a whole then it's pratically impossible to do it without the extention programs. We might have to wait until the newer reversed reenginered SMBXs will come up but when it's unknown.

I remember someone making a switch palace without lunalua (and it was posted somewhere in NSMBX), but it's quite difficult to make and impossible also to put 4 switch palaces since you'd hit the limits of the world map.
You have to make 2 world maps, one with the switch palace not hit and one with the switch palace hit, and when you finish the switch palace level, you have to warp the player in the second map.

That doesn't make any sense ( One map = one episode )

I didn't say to make 2 .wld files. I said that you have to make 2 world maps in one .wld file, one being the exact copy of the other (except a few things so you can have the player get 100% of the save file).

Yeah and it would be hard for SMBX to know what levels that you have completed up to that point so if you find a switch palace it might destroy your progress.

I half meant the ablity to make a level with a picture of a switch on it and half meant the ability to place a big ass switch

You have to use custom graphics and NPC codes, but that's not that hard to do.
The difficult part is the fact that the on/off state of the switch won't permanently translate to the rest of the levels, which is why you need to come up with some pretty abstract/weird ideas to work around it. This is why people are suggesting things like multiple world maps (that won't work but it has the right idea behind it).
