Basic Level 1 [Re-review]

Hey guys, so I wanted to get more into designing "pure stages." I made this level by trying to follow the 4-part principle used in recent Mario games (Mario Galaxy 2, 3DLand, 3DWorld) where the level takes you through a core idea/concept. This is a very basic level with no custom graphics (but I did make a custom song for it) where my focus really was just on making the level itself. Hope you enjoy.

This level was bad, short and has a boring gameplay. We have only one section, which contains flat design, which you didn't add that many BGOs, lack of NPCs (such as bad coin placement, many emenies are the only goombas). The level mostly takes on simple jumping on blocks, which isn't that good. The most problem that it came in this level, is the 8-bit music, it doesn't fit in 16-bit level whatsoever. After that, probably there's nothing to this one, it's just...bad actually.
Overall Score: 2.5/10
Section: The Trash Can

What do you have against flat design?, have you ever played one of Darkonius64's levels?, not that this was good but still.

Have you played the old version of the level?

Basic Level 1(re-)review
Design & Gameplay: 2/10 (counts 70%)
Let's start with the good stuff, sadly I end it soon: the powerup vs. enemy ratio is fair in this level.
The difficulty is too easy, the level got very boring and lacked of fun factor and replay value because of that. You've placed the coins very very very badly. This level also has the worst NPC variety I've ever seen, only goombas (you should've placed some Koopa Troopas and Piranha Plants to make the level design better) and I have to say their placement was bad too. Also this level is very short.
Atmosphere & Visuals: 3.5/10 (counts 30%)
Gfx aren't clashy and I didn't see any cutoffs either.
The music isn't fitting but still not that unfitting.
The level lacks of ground BGOs, so it felt very empty when I was playing. And even if I like 8 bit theme usually, this fact doesn't really change my opinion of the atmosphere still.
Score: 2.5/10
Moved to 'Trash Can' (again)

No, should I be happy about that?

I wanted to say that flat doesn't always mean bad, which we see if we play your levels.

Darkonius' levels aren't flat at all.

Look at Windy Woodtop, you see there are a lot less slopes than in SM7 or DarkMecha's levels

I don't even want to know how I could picture this compared to a very cruel stage that Nintendo made one time.
