Bright Light Casino

Postby 8sblack » Tue Jun 23, 2015 5:23 pm

Here's a level I made for a new project that my friends and I are working on. This is,of course, the obligatory casino level of the project. It's not a super long level, but I did spend quite a bit of time on it, so enjoy (or at least try to).

Judging by the screens the place is a bit flat, once I get my computer I'll see what it can do.

Bright Light Casino by 8sblack - Review

As the title says, it's casino-themed. The design wasn't very flat and it's okay, since I kinda like flashing graphics much. The music fit was good. Anyway, we're seeing a word called BOOGALOO made by background objects, no idea why you made that, but okay. When you hit the invisible block, which is detected by coin, the appears and leads up to the star, which is pretty easy to find. Then here's puzzle, which you have to make switch blocks visible to move the progress, and you know what - it's probably interesting thing that it has! After getting a midpoint, we're going through more platforming for almost a minute, if you rush, since there is nothing that would interest me in the second half, and then you end the level with the FINISH word, again, made out of background objects. There's a few problems in this level. The SMW pipes don't fit with custom other graphics, and many emenies in SMB2+SMB3+SMW don't look together in this level.

Also, this part of a few screens here:

First, I didn't know there's a warp to the next section there, the second, you have to fly and duck through these blocks, and the third, you have to fly enough to get there, so it's not a good idea to put a section there.

Well, overall, the level was pretty good with some few issues.

7.5/10

Thanks for the feedback, I'm going to try to work out some of those kinks for the final version. (Probably work on getting/making stylized graphics for the enemies and the pipes)

The whole "Boogaloo" thing was for a project my friends and I are working on, Super Electric Boogaloo World.
