The Invasion

Rathanael, with his bandana off of his arm and over his mouth, scoured the burning toad house. He then heard his name and looked around to see the beanish girl named Rathanael running out with the girl in her arms. He was about to go out thinking she had the only child, but then she returned back in. There's someone else here?
Rathanael noticed Muyoko hard a real difficult time breathing under the smoke. He took off his bandana and tossed it to her.
"You need it more than I do right now!" he shouted.

[Muyoko]

Muyoko finally found Rathanael... or more like vice versa.

"Thanks. Let's find the little girl's brother. He's still in here, right?" Muyoko asked. She did remember hearing a little boy's yell in the building. She thought at least that's why Rathanael was in there still. The bandana helped her breathing very well, but now the only issue is making sure the fire doesn't being to set her on fire. The issue of dehydration will have to wait until the rain begins to cool everything off for the time being. Yeah, the dehydration may be what's blurring her thinking at this time.

At least I didn't lose my picture of his majesty at THIS moment or else things would really suck for me. Muyoko laughed to herself.

Looking around, Clastic noticed the majority of the party had left in separate directions. It was also raining in a few isolated areas thanks to Pleonexus, which started suppressing the fires across town. Several of the more fight-prepared people went off to handle some big three-headed snake called Triclyde, who seemed to be the source of the fires. That left the mouse throwing bombs. He seemed to be the source of most of the problems, making craters in the ground and damaging buildings to the point of instability. Seeing as Rathanael, who was originally fighting him, had to go help some trapped Toads, Clastic felt that he was left to fight the rat in shades. Of course, Clastic would handle it with his typical amount of gusto. Clastic began to charge in the direction of Mouser, eager to fight. He yelled to divert his attention from trashing Toad Town.

"HEY! YOU THINK YOU CAN JUST BOMB A TOWN WITHOUT SOME RESISTANCE? YOU WILL NOW HAVE TO FACE ME, THE CLASTIC CRUSHER!" He readied his stony fist, prepared to clock this rat into next week.

Bill suddenly felt a drop of rain on his head. Yes, now this can put out the fire!, he thought. He continued trying to get the attention of the Boomerang Bro, but he saw the Beanish person go up to him anyway, so he continued to fight the Mouser. Might as well help Doobel, he thought, kicking another bomb away.

Suddenly, Bill remembered. Oh no, my mask is hardly hanging on as it is, and this rain is just going to wash it off!, he thought, running over to his house to retrieve an umbrella, but was stopped by a fireball scraping the side of his head.

"Luigi! Doobel! Clastic! Throw the bombs back!" Mario shouted to the others as they were now in a head-on fight with Mouser and his seemingly endless supply of explosives.

"Like this!" Luigi replied, tossing a bomb back at Mouser. As it exploded, Mouser was forced back a few feet. "If we keep this up, we'll knock him out!"

"Don't attack him head on!" Mario directed his words to Clastic. "He'll just throw one right at you!"

Prism continued to steadily approach Triclyde, trying to get in range to straight up punch him with a fire-charged hand. Noticing it was still only really him and Lee fighting, Prism yelled, "Hey! We could use a little help here!"

He hit Triclyde right up his head, hoping that they won't have to worry about that head attacking them ever again. That was when he noticed Prism asking for help. But instead of just waiting for someone to arrive, he yelled at the Duplighost: "Hey, you! Doobel, was it? Can't you transform into something a bit more suitable for battle, like a Hammer Bro. or something? Isn't that what you do?", hoping for that to finally get rid of the snake. This Triclyde guy is definitely no ordinary run-of-the-mill minion.
Of course he didn't stop keeping a close eye on the flame-spewing snake, after all he didn't want any more burn marks on his armor, and preferably none on his body as well. But as he looked around the battlefield a bit, he realised that it only seemed to rain in certain areas, and as he saw the back of Toad Town he realised why: The Dry Bones seemed to be using some sort of magic. Normally that's what Magikoopas do, but any help was welcome. He finally found another opening and rammed his head right into another one of Triclyde's heads before retrating back to a safer distance, hoping he knocked out another head.

Bill turned his head and saw the Triclyde looking fiercely at him.

"Oh, you want some, do you?" Bill said. The Triclyde answered with a hiss. "Don't worry, I'll help you guys," Bill added, calling over to the Fire Bro and the Koopatrol. He had rarely gotten this involved with other people before, but he liked this. When Bill reached the Fire Bro and Koopatrol, he introduced himself, grabbed a rock off the ground and threw it at the Triclyde. It hissed again.

"On second thoughts, I think I'll run," Bill said, grinning nervously, but when he had started to run, he received a fireball to his back of the head. He tripped over and landed on the floor. He had been knocked out cold.

Rathanael heard a whimper from under a bed. He crawled over and found the toad boy. This would have been fantastic if he weren't a boomerang bro, because the kid wouldn't go near him. He shouted to Muyoko, "You're going to have to get him. He doesn't trust me!"

[Muyoko]

"R-really?" Muyoko said, "Well alright..."

She didn't think that Rathanael would need her to get a small boy out. Then again, seeing a Boomerang Bro as a Toad in the Mushroom Kingdom was probably like seeing a stray cat as a guard dog that is protecting his master's property.

She decided to move underneath the bed where the boy was.

"Hey. We're friends. Can you please come out?" Muyoko asked as she showed him he had no weapons.

The boy looked at Muyoko. At least this kid knows what a Koopa is. He looked puzzled seeing the Beanish girl.

"Listen. Your sister is safe. She's probably scared, you know?" Muyoko said. She was almost tearing up.

The Toad can only nod, as he slowly crawled to her, Muyoko can only picture how she was found in this similar position. Muyoko hugged the Toad, as he hugged back. Mission accomplished. There was the brother.

"Okay." She then addressed to Rathanael, "Let's get him out of here."

The fact the kid didn't squirm as soon as he saw Rathanael was surprising at first, but then remembered, Hey, stupid! His house is on fire. He doesn't give two bullet bills who is saving him right now.

While Bill was knocked out, he had a dream. He was falling... falling... through a black abyss... until he landed on a stone floor. All he could hear... was talking... in hushed voices...

"HELP!"

As soon as Bill heard this, he got off the stone floor... ran... into a house... saw silhouettes... looked vaguely... familiar...

"I'M COMING!" he called. Then, everything started fading away... vanishing...

When Bill woke up from the dream, he found himself in a Toad house, with the Beanish person from earlier and the Boomerang Bro from earlier staring at him.

"Uhhhh... so... what's up?" he asked, nervously. He had obviously mumbling in his sleep, and he had yelled when he said he was coming, judging by his sore throat.

Triclyde was angry at this point and began to haphazardly spurt streams of fireballs from each of his three heads. Pleo, Clastic, and Tess were caught amidst the firey storm.

Meanwhile, Mario had caught a bomb from Mouser and proceeded to throw it right back at him. The explosion shot Mouser back into a house in recoil, knocking the wall down. Princess Peach followed suit and tried to throw a spare bomb at Triclyde, but it exploded too close to her after it was thrown. Peach recoiled into the grass behind her.

"PEACH!" Mario screamed, rushing to her aid.

In the distance, a figure made its way through the sky toward the center of Toad Town. It wasn't too long before the figure was recognized as Wart, who was presumably the leader of this attack. He was sitting on a metal chair-like structure that had a helicopter propellor above it, allowing him to fly.

Luigi turned his head toward the house that Mouser had destroyed from his fall, and noticed that there was a vegetable bush on the outside.

Tess had been running around Toad Town in the chaos of the fight, helping people get to safety while kicking any stray bombs back to where they had come from. Once she was confident that the townspeople were as safe as they could be, Tess turned to run towards the three-headed Cobrat locked in battle with Lee and a Fire Bro she didn't recognize. Eh, as long as he was fighting with them and not against them. Just as that thought passed through her mind, Tryclyde began to haphazardly spit fire around. "Shoot!" Tess jumped over and ducked under the fire as it came at her, still running. Once she got close enough, she jumped up and aimed an uppercut at the head that had been shooting fire at her with a nice loud "Hiiii-YAH!" to go with it.

Then she heard something in the air. She turned her head toward the source of the sound and saw none other than Wart himself sitting on a metal throne in the sky, probably mentally gloating. "Hey!" Tess shouted into the air. "Wart! Get down here and fight us, you coward!" Unfortunately, all of this left her open to any surprise attacks that Tryclyde might have had in store for her.

When Bill had snapped out of his "trance", he heard some yelling and other noises outside. He exited the Toad house to find Wart in the sky, sitting on a metal chair. He grabbed a handful of rocks and tried to throw them at Wart. Wart dodged them all, obviously.

"Hey, my only weapon is whatever I can find off of the floor!" Bill said, looking around. As he said this, he slowly remembered something he had at the back of his house. He dashed there, then came out a minute later, holding a Snifit mask. He put it on his face and started rapidly spitting at Wart.

After that episode with Bill, Muyoko looked back at Rathanael.

"I'll go and return the kid to his sister. You take care of Wart, okay?" Muyoko said as the kid began to snivel.

Bill is starting to get on my nerves. Muyoko thought to herself.

[Streetzero]

Prism watched as everything around him unfolded. The storm of fire, the Princess being hit by her own bomb (needless to say, he was rather disappointed in that performance), a Toad going to punch Triclyde in his face - or rather one of his faces - and finally the arrival of Wart. For a moment, he briefly stood back to formulate a plan, looking down at the ground.

"...no, that won't work... what if I... that wouldn't go well... I'd have to wait..." Prism could be faintly heard muttering. Then he looked back up at grinned. "That should work." And with that, he looked at Triclyde who had stopped focusing on him to attack the aforementioned Toad and two others.

Prism started to silently rely on the Toad to keep Triclyde distracted as he quickly navigated the fire and slowly approached the back of the snake-like being. Prism engulfed his right hand in a blindingly bright red fire. Then he too went unleashed an uppercut on Triclyde's middle head - the one firing at a Whomp - with his fiery hand.

Just as Lee thought they finally beat Triclyde, he got back up and shot fire even more violently than before. He had an even harder time dodging fireballs now, even though the majority of them didn't even seem to be aimed at him. Luckily for them, Tess seemed to be aiding them now. He then realised he hasn't actually seen much of her in this battle before, but he was certainly glad she helped them now. Instead of analyzing the situation first like he did however, she just ran right towards Triclyde, barely dodging his fireballs, only to then uppercut one of his heads. She really does know how to fight, he thought to himself. However, just then, a frog-like creature with a crown flew towards the scene on some kind of throne. Really? Just... flying throne? Say what you will about Bowser's Koopa Clown Car, but at least it had some design sense...
However, apparently that guy was Wart, who appeared to be behind the attack - at least that's what Tess was shouting. But it looked like Triclyde wasn't finished yet, the head that was just hit by the Toad looked like it was about to recover. "Tess, watch out!", he yelled at her, hoping she reacts fast enough. He then saw Prism dashing right at the snake, only to deliver another uppercut at the snake, this time charged with fire. Looks like only one head is left for now, he thought. Well then, I know what I'll be doing! He attempted what he'd already done quite a few times that day: Finding an opening to then ram his head into one of Triclyde's heads. While doing just that, he realised that the head he was targeting seemed to be firing at the Dry Bones. He could only hope that he'd be able to handle that until he'd finally find an opening. It wasn't long until he finally managed to locate one, and he charged at the snake once again. The attack didn't hit perfectly, but he just had to hope that was enough for now because he had to back away immediately after.

(*makes an awkward entrance after 8 pages of inactivity*)

Suddenly an explosion of smoke scattered the Toads who were busy keeping the Triclyde distracted. In the cloud, a Magikoopa in a purple coat had appeared.

Meeko looked around in confusion This was not where he wanted to go... or was it? Where was his beloved Koopa? Here? Captured? Alright? Dead?! Meeko didn't know what to do. He had tried to teleport near Toad Town, but teleportation was never his strengh. His strengh was actually transformation, which is also useful for travelling, but only if you can find a Yoshi willing enough to have wings attached to their back.

Meeko came back to reality from his thoughts to realize that a stream of fireballs was flying towards him. With the wave of his wand he quickly dispersed them and then looked up to what had caused those fireballs. The big Triclyde looked down at him, not noticing that behind it's middle head, a Fire Bro was about to unleash his own fire on it.

Meeko quickly took the chance to transform the nearest rock into a bomb and his wand into a golf club. Hoping his countless hours of practice hadn't completely gone to waste, he swung the club at the bomb, aiming for the mouth of the remaining head that was just about to devour one of the Toads that were still confused by his sudden appearance. Concentrating and hoping for the best he hit the bomb and watched it fly towards the Triclyde's remaining head.

Just in that moment, a Koopatrol charged towards the head, ramming into it's neck. Just as the Koopatrol bounced back, seemingly exhausted from the attack, the bomb hit and seemingly delivered the final hit.

Rathanael looked at Muyoko, "Roger that! Wart won't know what hit him, before my boomerang comes around to hit him again!"

He studied Wart's hover..craft...thing. He wondered how far he could throw his boomerang. Boomerangs were surely a good fighting tool if used correctly, but they were tough when it comes to hitting something accurately. He studied the wind to figure out how well his boomerang could fare trying to in that direction. So it's facing south, that should be just the right condition to throw it... right a little bit! Rathanael threw his boomerang as hard as he could, not to hit wart himself, but to shoot for a vital spot in what he was riding.

[Muyoko]

Muyoko looked outside to see Wart. But first, taking the Toad back to his sister. It took her some time, but it wasn't as long as when Mouser was around surprisingly. After she reunited the Toads, she decided to return and support those in the fight, only to see the princess in recoil from one of the attacks.

Her heart nearly sank.

"Your majesty? Are you okay?" Muyoko asked. She didn't want to see Peach like this, but this was going to happen. "Do you need help?"

She decided to wait for an answer, as she prayed that her majesty was alive.
