Stickying as this can turn out very useful to newer users who haven't memorized the NPC IDs.

This is actually the best thing. Thank you so much for making this, I am sure it will come in handy a lot.

I really discourage the red text. Red is known for being one of the hardest colors to read, especially when up against black.

This is really smart, but when I saw this I went and made myself one that I could read more easily. I don't mean to steal thunder, because it wasn't my idea, but I figure I might as well share it here:
Some effects may be missing or incorrect. I didn't go super professional with it since I was just making it for myself, mainly.
I still have the PDN file so I can update/tweak it more later if people want.

Wow, thanks Magician. That's much more legible than the OP's image. Props to Catskart for making this.

This should be done with the blocks and the BGOs as well. It'll be really handy for this as a quick reference when trying to use CGFX, as even I have to swim through the folders just to find the graphic to replace.

Thanks Magician, this one is a lot easier to read. Thanks for the original idea though, Catskart.

Aww some two had my idea already...Only difference is that I did the same, just with the blocks instead so I know what to replace when I'm doing custom tile-sets...

Why not post the blocks, then? The more the merrier. It could go in a new thread because this one is titled differently. Or perhaps someone can update the main post.

I not trying to be an asshole, but if you would like to find GFX with the same File name you could just search the <Filename.gif> and it will find all the GFX's in your GFX Pack that replace that GFX.
Or you want to find the original GFX on SMBX just do the same in <DiskDriveLetter>:\SMBX\graphics.
I hope I kinda helped

You know, doing your method takes a lot of time sometimes...hell,
i don't want to scroll trough 100's of gfx just to find a god damn npc.So this is pretty helpful.

This idea is brilliant. From here on I will never have to tediously dig through the graphic folder to find certain NPCs. I have decided to do this for BGOs, so here they are. Obviously credit to Catskart for coming up with the idea.
