Would it bother you guys if...

...we had a little bit more downtime this Saturday? It would be from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM, EST. There are a few problems present in the result of this past Saturday's downtime, and this would allow me to fix them. I could also take some time to finish off the icons/pages/etc., and having more people in the IRC is always good. I'm opening this up to you guys to see how you feel.

I have been experiencing some slowdown lately (which wasn't happening before the latest server update). Improvements are always nice.

Really? Hm...I was having a lot of problems before the update and they were all fixed. Could you describe the slowdown?

I'm curious to hear others' experiences with the speed as well.

Oh yeah, go ahead, whatever. Improvements are always worth it. It'll make chat awesome again, probably, anyways.

I have not been experiencing significant slowdown, however.

Huh. I haven't really been experiencing any slowdowns myself. And I, myself, am completely open to more downtime.

Do whatever you need.

I'd maybe recommend something like a monthly maintenance schedule if necessary.

This a lot, if it'll keep the site running as smoothly as it has been. You've done some really impressive stuff, Joey.

Well, basically it takes some time to load the background, and then it takes some time for the pipes to appear. The featured episode appears normally (sometimes the screenie only loads later, though), and then there's a lot of the top left corner part of these silver sizeables appear in a row (I'll try to take a picture of this when it happens again), and the rest of the page loads bit by bit. After a while the slowdown stops and the pages load normally until I go to another site and come back. This didn't happen today, though.

This happened to me on one occasion but it was my fault, I was running too many things on my system and well everything that was running was taking up too much memory so my browser was taking forever to load webpages. Anyways, I vote yes for another forum maintenance, after all it never hurts anyone & any improvement is nice, just to keep things up to date and running smoothly. Besides, we have the chat for the time the forum is down.
