While this is my stupid opinion, but I would've preferred the original ones compared to the MM ones, however, this is super amazing! I'm excited to try using these in a level at some point.Hoeloe wrote:MEGASPIIIIIKES.
I sure hope future versions of SMBX will be open source so other people can be a part of the development process, along with the ones who've been a part for a while. We can probably get updates more often that way too.FanofSMBX wrote:It kind of seems to me that there are still some things in SMBX that are not yet unmystified (the "need more tech" NPCs, for example). Will SMBX ever be considered open-source, or are there things that are not going to be done until PGE?
The regular ones from Super Mario World are already in the game! They can be operated using moving layers.Matt_The_Slime wrote:While this is my stupid opinion, but I would've preferred the original ones compared to the MM ones, however, this is super amazing! Do these new ones do their thing on their own, without any influence from events?Hoeloe wrote:
From what I can see, yes. Also, the block smashing and NPC skewering is all done via NPC so if I understand the images well enough.Pseudo wrote:The regular ones from Super Mario World are already in the game! Ooh, will that SMB2 Bridge finally be moved to the correct section?Enjl wrote:A bit of a more technical blog post coming on Saturday. Not gonna reveal too much about it right now, but here's a hint:

I mean if you make something and send it to us and it's good code that can be used properly in the basegame, we're gonna put it in and credit you for it and give you the 2.0 dev role over on the codehaus discord. The reason why we don't just give unrestricted access to the repository is in order to maintain some kind of quality control in what we're doing, and the fact that a core team of ~10 is a million times easier to manage than a core team of ~100.practicalshorty014 wrote:I sure hope future versions of SMBX will be open source so other people can be a part of the development process, along with the ones who've been a part for a while. That's a semi-solid platform. Semi-solid slopes, maybe?Enjl wrote:A bit of a more technical blog post coming on Saturday. Not gonna reveal too much about it right now, but here's a hint:

You mean that they freeze you solid and you have to break out of the ice? Man that mechanic was awesome...FanofSMBX wrote:He means like from NSMBWII.Enjl wrote:just make a hammer bro throw ice balls?timocomsmbx2345 wrote:Don't forget the ice bro!
True, don't know how easy it would be to implement though. Although they have done a lot for 2.0 already.Jayce 777 wrote:You mean that they freeze you solid and you have to break out of the ice?
