I'm hoping for more NPCs (especially the rest of the SMB3 and SMW Koopalings).

Do you think it’s possible that all Koopalings from SMB 3 in SMB 3 style are somehow available in 2.0.0?

I ask specifically, because I would like to plan to integrate all Koopalings of this kind into my episode, which I want to start with 2.0.0. :)

I would think it's better if the koopalings used the New Super Mario Bros Wii design

That also would be good, of course. :)

Well, custom graphics exist! So if you don't like the original sprites, you could just find some replacement sprites the community already ported.

How do you keep finding these threads again just to bump them?

I’m always excited for a new thread just to discover that it’s already months old.

Besides there's a tremendous amount of new NPCs already.

I tried looking at the changelog and get a error code saying page not found. Just a minor thing though.

Off - topic:

I’m thinking about why betas – like betas of SMBX 2 – are offered for download.

I think people with a beta version have a way to look forward to the full release. At the same time, tests can be carried out to test how different elements work. :)

These are absolutely "full" versions, and the term beta is more-so a formality at this stage. In fact, the team considered making beta 4 the full version.

Is it just me, or does Wario no longer have velocity when launched from a cannon horizontally? Because this severely breaks one of my levels. It might be this error I'm getting on startup, or something else, but something is definitely breaking this...

I cannot tell you if it's because of the error without seeing the error.

I think I figured out what's going on. It's not due to the error, that's just telling me the Goomba Tower is using PNPC which it shouldn't be. The problem is the balloons pack in this thread, one of the balloons forces a spinjump, but Wario doesn't have a spinjump, so an extra file is needed to modify this. This "Wario.lua" does something to Wario's physics that prevents him from gaining horizontal momentum when shot out of a cannon, and also seems to prevent him from running but that might just be me misreading something.

EDIT: Experimenting with another NPC seems to suggest Wario's horizontal speed is being capped.

EDIT2: It doesn't seem to be the balloons doing it, but Wario's horizontal speed is definitely being capped to his walking speed somehow. And testing in a separate episode it appears to be something in the game itself.

EDIT3: I made a level to test it out.

EDIT4: The problem only happens when holding the run or altrun button, it turns out. Weird...

Ah, yeah, that makes sense. For some silly reason, SMBX caps character run speed but not walk speed. There seems to be some conflict of ownership over what the speed cap should be between clear pipes (who try to circumvent that) and Wario (who doesn't).

Could be Redigit's spaghetti code. For all I know run speed is capped to reach the proper speed and the actual internal dash speed would put Sonic to shame.

Though it's weird that Wario is the only one still capped. It affects barrel cannons as well. And even his run, I think.

Yes, with this software you can have fun. :)

I also like to use the level – and world – editor of this software. :)

I'm happy to finally be able to play SMBX2 with no issues - finally got an actually new and good computer today! Just tested the game, everything is working as expected. I wanted this to happen for a long time, all computers I have ever had were really bad honestly.

Like 3 years ago I made a similar post, but I had to send back that computer. Hopefully nothing bad will happen with this one.
