This.
If you actually wanted to be mature and not be remembered in a bad way for making a shitty joke level, you should have made a legitimate, at least half-assed attempt at a level.
I congratulate Quill for not including joke levels in TOB8. It's about time joke levels started dying out.
I Agree *
It's not funny to making joke level.

What if a user made a joke level and it ends up winning the contest? I may hate joke levels, but that would be messed up if you ask me!

We're talking about
shitty joke levels here.
If a level has actual effort put into it and is actually a good level (ignoring the fact that it's intended to be a joke level) that's a whole different story.

There is no harm in asking, and I mean if a joke level tha was aiming for last came in first!

That will never happen.
Ever. We would sooner make contact with aliens than a shitty level making it to the top rank of a Tower of Biased episode.
You know why?
Because 99.9999% of the time, you are rewarded by the amount of effort you put into something. If you made a level in five seconds, you're not going anywhere, but you'll definitely be up in at least the middle tier if you, you know,
put effort into your level.

What about if you use a level from a year or more into the past? Would that be bad of it won?

Figured I'd mention that he didnt specify WHEN it was made, only how quickly it was created...
Btw, I pretty much only submit levels when they've already been done like 2 months in advance.

If tier two was optimal, or half of the levels anyway, would you think about lping this tower of bias?

I'll talk to Val and Quill to get their opinions of the level's overall quality. Whether I play this installment in ToB relies solely on their responses.

Can Quill just disallow actual bullshit joke levels from the contest that require no effort to create and play? They are so annoying and aren't funny.
Joke levels that are meant to be funny and have actual work in them should be included though.

I wonder how far you will make it. How about a little race through the level you actualy do!

I heard the results got delayed to today because of our remaining judge (Quill) and his name is still not bolded even if the results were pushed to today, is he still judging levels? I really want the results NOW! If the results get delayed, then that should go on the main post for CC9.

Be patient, the world will not spin faster because you can't wait like the rest of us. Neither Quill or Val are even online right now, plus it's 8am EST. You can't possibly expect any news this early in the morning.

Uh yeah, Val said on skype that Quill apparently still hasn't sent his reviews in, so I guess we'll have to wait. :/

I think it's worth noting that Quill has to review the levels and design the hub this time around. That's enough to have your hands full, on top of probably having a life outside of that, so it'd be good to cut him some slack for being a few days behind.
Also, I don't really care when the tower comes out, but for the next contests, I wonder if it'd be easier to begin working on it before the levels even come in. You could pretty much get everything but the level warps done at any point regardless of whether you know what sorts of levels to expect. All you'd need for that is to know how many tiers you want for a particular iteration of ToB, plus the story/theme/bosses. Then, once you know what the level placements are, all that would be left is to place doors, warps, and signs in the otherwise-finished hub. I think that would make it easier to design, because it'd give you a lot more time to work on it and a lot less work to do at the point where everything's decided.

Yeah that's true, I've been thinking about that too, but I think you should know the number of levels too, or just leave enough space in case some more levels than originally planned come in.

Well, I honestly don't think this would work out. What if 30% of the levels are joke levels (Just an example, it'll never happen) either the tier should be expanded (resulting in more work), or some levels will make it to higher/ lower tiers. Anyway, I agree, designing the hub AND judging sounds like a crap ton of work. Poor quill.

If the hub is close to finished or already finished, joke levels go to the tier 1 and 2 without much more work. I say that a dedicated user who does fantastic design can choose to create a hub, and if it works great, i.e. sticks to the theme 100%, that hub can be used and time consuption is cut into quarters, thus less work is needed.

Designing the entire tower without starting the tier rooms is a good option as well.
